Cash Sinks (in General)

Well, I mentioned it in the Changelog thread. But I think some discussion on it would be good.

Simply put, there's 20% less change but the cash sinks didn't get smaller. The costs stayed the same, but there is less cash to pay them. Which seems a bit... daunting, considering the costs were already brutal.

The main things I'm questioning is the costs for upgrading certain items (mainly items that need large amounts of NW put into them. Like weapons/DBs) and the cost for hiring minions.

Simply, I love the change. Don't really mind the less cash. But this change really hurts tanks who can't use USD and straight kills players who were looking to hire minions anytime in the next year.

It would be nice of the larger sinks could be looked at. Even with the items, you can't just materialize extra liquid funds and that's what you need to runs tanks and hire minions.

Thoughts?

Minion hiring needs a revamp in my opinion. Nothing should ever cost as much as I've seen minions cost unless Jonathan INTENDS you to need to use USD to hire late. I know he dislikes single minion teams, but the penalty for not hiring early can be upwards of 200 mil if you want to switch to a four minion team. 200 mil! The most cash I've ever had at one time is 10% of that.

That said, minion costs likely are the single largest cash sink, considering when someone like 3/4's or Ranger finally hires it will remove mammoth chunks of CB from the game. And cash sinks are important, even for those of us who don't sell CBD.

Yup what badfish said, hiring minions is expensive. You need to take out loans or major USD investment.

Running a single tank and deciding you want a change of strategy shouldn't be discouraged like this.
