Exbow Concept (in General)

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 18 2009 4:15 AM EDT

how about (x1) on the bow lowers the opponents strength by 0.025 by your strength. So e.g. i have a (x1000) (+20) Exbow on an enchanter with 20 strength. 0.025*1000*20 giving a strength reduction of 500. It would work exactly the same for the Axbow.
Ideas and suggestions, please post here.

that sounds like a good idea to me :)
make things a bit more balanced

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 18 2009 5:19 AM EDT

So a x10 Exbow on 1 Mil Strength Tank would drain 250K STR per hit?

You wouldn't really need to upgrade one at all on a Tank for it to still take all your opponents STR in one hit.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 18 2009 5:22 AM EDT

In fact, you would only need a x40 E/AXbow to drain an amount equal to your STR per hit.

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 18 2009 5:22 AM EDT

Yes but it stops Rangers main argument. You can't have an enchanter draining an entire tank in a hit with this system.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 18 2009 5:23 AM EDT

Third!

Why don't we just change the Drain to be like Decay, except for Stats and not Health.

50% (or less, whatever for balance...) of the current stat per hit.

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 18 2009 5:23 AM EDT

True GL. Maybe make it 0.0025 instead then.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 18 2009 5:24 AM EDT

"Yes but it stops Rangers main argument. You can't have an enchanter draining an entire tank in a hit with this system."

True, but then you just take it was from Enchanters and make it godly for Tanks.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 18 2009 5:25 AM EDT

Hehehehe. ;)

This is why an Edit ability would be nice! ;)

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 18 2009 5:25 AM EDT

So you would have it automatically drain 75% with 2 hits without having any (x) on it?

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] June 18 2009 5:28 AM EDT

Surely the easiest way to fix the xbows is to remove the fixed reduction leaving the percentage reduction?
That way they can't cause negatives.
I'm an axbow user and will eventually be using an exbow as well. They both need to work the same way as just doing that to the exbow will result in everyone without insane strength to switch to the axbow which will result in the same complaints about the axbow.
Removing the fixed reduction is by far the easiest and fairest adjustment if Jon or NS even think it needs changing.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 18 2009 5:30 AM EDT

Nayab, like Zog's posted. A percentage reduction of the current stat based on Weapon X. ;)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 18 2009 5:32 AM EDT

Edit: Capped at a certain percentage. Like 50% Max per hit.

With the X being compared to the Stat to determin the reduction. (Or just a plain reduction per X, with the only benefit after you reach the cap of being just upping damage...)

I'm sure this was suggested ages ago. :/

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] June 18 2009 6:02 AM EDT

Maybe just change it to 1/100% reduction per X and remove the fixed drain.
x10000 would then be needed to get full drain which is a much bigger expense with current rewards also.

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 18 2009 6:31 AM EDT

that sounds like a good idea Zog, just remember that when making these comments we DON'T what to make the Ex and Ax bow completely useless, they were introduced as a way to beat tanks after all.

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] June 18 2009 7:15 AM EDT

I don't think they'd become useless that way.
x1000 is easy enough to reach at a mid-level which is 10% per hit.
We could go half way and say 1/66%

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 18 2009 7:24 AM EDT

well currently the highest exbow is (x4000) and the highest Axbow is (x2800)
which means for a very large investment that person would get a 40% strength drain. I reckon change your Idea Zog to 1/75% reduction per (x).
It means people would still get quite good but might actually have to try. The main reason i had for trying something that related to your strength was to give people a chance to get a decent drain without spending a LOT of CBD. Probably could use my idea but max the drain out at a percentage of their total stat.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] June 18 2009 10:13 AM EDT

The direct drain is not the problem at all right now. It is the % drain that makes it so an enchanter can take away 100% of str in the first place. This wouldn't solve anything. It would just be doing what Jon did before and postpone the problem. If you look at some of those weapons there are ones as high as x17000. People will get to that point and as soon as they do the exbow is OP again.

The drain weapons should never, ever hit 100% drain on a % based drain.
