I've been an avid runner for a few years now. I'm looking for a intermediate to advanced workout plan, for the distance of lets say a 5k. =). So far i've just been pounding the miles for a couple months but its time to get serious. If anyone could point me in the direction of a good running plan, that would help alot. Thanks in advance.
I thought that was more so a lifting program based workout? I"m looking for a actual running workout plan. Thanks though.
ya get a lamb chop, a steak, and a turkey leg. Tie these to your belt raw. Then ya get a pit bull, a german shepherd, and a doberman...

Are you really only shooting for 5K? You know that is only 3 miles or so, right? If you are already running "miles", then -- you are there? Do you want to increase distance or time? Trying to increase time on 5K, well, in my experience, the shorter the time, the more exacting the science. Sprinters are like Ivan Drago -- machines. If you want to run a good 15K, or go marathon, then just google "training marathon".
In that area you are looking, you WILL find people saying to train weights and get a ton of advice about diet -- because that is what matters. You gots the wheels for 5K. To maximize takes that next level of crazy wonderful. I'm assuming you are in decent shape, but will still add the standard disclaimer of, "if you are going to 'push' it, consult with your physician first."
