4th Annual Carnage Blender Fantasy Football League (in Off-topic)

[RX3]Cotillion August 6 2009 11:50 AM EDT

Is there any interest in a CB FF league? It was my first time playing in a fantasy football league last year and I had fun. However, I think due to there being no buy in, people didn't really put effort into the league.

I'm not sure how much knowledge is needed to run a fantasy league, but if no one is willing to manage it then I will.

Assuming that there is interest, does anyone have suggestions? We need to figure out which service to use, which league rules and points to use, and the buy-in amount. Also, when to set the draft.

ill join, whats the fee?

Lefty August 6 2009 2:39 PM EDT

I will join, but I can only play if Defensive picks are just Team DEF and not selective positions..

@ Tal - Probably $1m - $2m. That would be a pretty nice pot. We can set up a weekly NFL line and take a percentage from that for the Fantasy football pot like last year.

@ Lefty - We played with Team Defenses last year.

Yahoo! Fantasy Football is a good service.

Count me in. I never did it before though. ;). Also we should do the weekly football pics that petergriffen hosted last year.

Burton August 6 2009 5:55 PM EDT

I'd consider joining.

That's what I meant by the weekly NFL line. That site he found was pretty cool and made it a lot easier for him to maintain. I tried going back to the site, but it isn't hosted anymore or something.

We have 5 people considering to join. Any more? I know a lot of you people play fantasy football.

Ive never done it before either but i might be interested if i can get my debts in order.

Mikel August 13 2009 1:27 AM EDT

I can :)

[RX3]Cotillion August 18 2009 6:20 PM EDT

Up to 7... We need at least 3 more people, the more the merrier however.

Tal [G6] August 18 2009 6:33 PM EDT

too expensive for me, i got to drop out

[RX3]Cotillion August 19 2009 10:39 AM EDT

If the buy in is too high I can loan a few people the money on a no intrest payplan. As I said before last year there wasn't a buy in, therefore only half the people playing put genuine effort into it.

[RX3]Cotillion August 26 2009 11:26 PM EDT

Is anyone else interested in fantasy football? Need at least 4 more.

BHT August 27 2009 1:27 AM EDT

me

[RX3]Cotillion August 31 2009 2:54 PM EDT

3 more people... Come on, you know you want to join.

[RX3]Cotillion August 31 2009 10:59 PM EDT

10 days left until the regular season kicks off. If you don't have the money to pay up front, the NFL season is 17 weeks. We can arrange a pay-plan.

I think the buy-in is the deciding factor for a lot of people, so to clarify, I think it should be set at $1m. I know all of you guys can raise $1m in 17 weeks. That's only $58,823 CBD a week.

I also think we should go with ESPN for the fantasy football. This is the system I played in last year and it seemed to work great.

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] August 31 2009 11:01 PM EDT

I'm interested but i've never done it before. Could you post a link to the site? Maybe give me a little how to on how to get started also would be nice :).

[RX3]Cotillion August 31 2009 11:02 PM EDT

I've just made a new character named 'CB Fantasy Football'.

If you want to play, send your $1m to this character. If we don't have enough players, I will return the money.

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] August 31 2009 11:12 PM EDT

sent the entry fee. I'll enter within a couple days.
