Help me out with the CB myspace... (in General)

I've set up a page there. We had one, two, three of those already but nothing at all goes on them. So I figured I'd make a new one, and this time I'd go friend hunting in the gaming departement. Bands do it to advertise their music, so I don't see why we could not do the same, but with the game. (We would not be the first to do so.) Might draw some folks around, or not.

To be frank I am not super familiar with Myspace (I don't have one), so I'd need a hand to see what we can put on our page to make it attractive. Ideas, or even friend request and comments from player accounts would be great too...

I don't know. What I know is that most of the advertising (By bands mostly) on Myspace is done by sending friend requests en masse, with concert dates etc... I don't do that. I've been sending friend requests only to people who are shown as interested in Video Games, Rpgs...

Speaking of which, I would need a 150 character or less message to use while requesting. Any ideas?

Well, I've made 34 friend requests for now, and joined 22 video-gaming related groups. With a little luck, someone out of the 15k + members will be intrigued by the guy who's only named "Carnage Blender". Will be doing more later...handpicking is slow.

Edit: While I was typing I got an additional friend. Impressive, I know.

I've been handpicking and sending personalized messages to everybody I add, so I'm hoping it's alright since I don't think I'm spamming at all. I mean, it's not like everybody doesn't do it on the site. We'll see. 1'd be satisfied with 1 new player anyway. It's better than nothing.

Feel free to laugh at my attempt, but it turns out a myspace is too much work for one man with a life. I often forget to check on it, So, I'll be dropping that idea for now, and admit it may have been a stupid suggestion.

So yeah, I tried and failed :) I will now stop suggesting it in future advertisement threads. If someone wants the account info, I'll will gladly give it away.

(Although I still think we should try twitter. Maybe I underestimate the amount of work there too, I'm not a very social person.)

I could take this over, i'm really familiar with myspace and the tricks to getting allot of friends. My personal myspace has 2800+ friends. So pending i have the time, i would be willing ;).

I still think it's a good idea, I just don't think I'm the right person to put it to execution.
