CB on Twitter (in Off-topic)

Newlin [SeeD] August 15 2009 1:53 AM EDT

I was reading Beartato's post about the Myspace account he was running for CB and I decided to check to see if anyone had done something on Twitter. There was no such thing so I figured I could do that myself, the only problem with that is I have no experience with Twitter and was wondering if I could get some help there from you guys. I just need to know how it works and what the best way to advertise CB would be. If someone is really good with this kind of thing, it could become a joint effort of sorts.

# Blended Dogbert. about 1 minute ago from web
# Blended Ikimyc. about 2 minutes ago from web

Etc.

I don't understand, Daz. You don't mean actually updating fights on there, do you?

Newlin [SeeD] August 15 2009 2:16 AM EDT

That would be fun updating it 160 times! :D

Newlin [SeeD] August 15 2009 2:23 AM EDT

I am pretty terrible with words so I figured someone here could type out a good description of CB in less than 160 characters. Thanks.

I've seen a Fexy update on twitter. Good idea and we should all do the same...

Sorry to disappoint, but these are the kind of updates I usually post:

I tend not to post at all and was attracted by the thought of "legalised stalking".

My idea was that we could post what happens during changemonths, tournaments, forum contests etc....

AdminG Beee August 15 2009 8:28 AM EDT

Yep, that would work although to what point I'm not sure.

Wouldn't the only people who were interested in reading about CB on twitter be people who most likely play the game? If there's updates to the game, they would already know. :)

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] August 15 2009 8:31 AM EDT

True. But quitters who did not remove CB from their friends list could be brought back by being twittered what seems like an interesting change...These people also have friends that could be interested by seing the name of the game in their list.

Also, links to twitter pages are not ref. links, and thus are more acceptable to post on other sites.

And why am I one getting my backside kicked in your example Daz? :P

Daz August 15 2009 10:24 AM EDT

I just picked a few people from my fightlist :P

I do find the idea of tweeting every single fight amusing, though. It just seems to fit Twitter so much (Constantly posting useless things that 95% of people don't care about).

Newlin [SeeD] August 15 2009 10:33 AM EDT

Surprisingly, 2 of those are on my fight list as well.

No one says we can't have a "Carnage Blender" twitter that serves as an update reminder, and another account, call it "The Blender" or something, and have that one just frantically killing everyone. Could be fun :)
