Strategy Question for Everyone. (in General)

I was looking to make my RockDiva Character better. I have a few thoughts going thru my mind about what to do and would love to hear opinions.

First option is to add an enchant to my enchanter. Something like Dispel Magic or Anti-magic Field. If I do that I would have to figure what kind of ratio to train to keep training my Ablative Shield.

Second option is to hire a third minion and then train something on it like Guardian Angel or the Dispel Magic or Anti-magic Field.

Third option is to just keep doing what I'm doing which is training 100% ablative shield and 100% Magic Missile and then occasionally training some more Phantom Link when I think I need it.

I would love hear what others think that have played much longer. I asked Soxjr but he says he has been a single minion forever and knows nothing about strategy. So here I am asking the people around me.

"If I do that I would have to figure what kind of ratio to train to keep training my Ablative Shield."

Ratios only work with BL and Archery. For everything else, ya just gotta train what would have you beating the targets you want to beat.

"Second option is to hire a third minion and then train something on it like Guardian Angel or the Dispel Magic or Anti-magic Field."

GA is insane in it's abilities to shred enemy damage dealers. Works well with AMF as it helps keep magic damage under the GA cap, also works with DM to keep AS off the enemies using familiars as their sole damage dealer.

Far as hiring goes though, there are many benefits/losses associated with both whether or not to hire, and when to hire should you choose to do so. If ya hire now, your score will almost certainly go up by a fair amount, but then so will your PR/MPR, essentially pushing you to the zone where score tends to plateau and 100% challenge bonus opponents start slipping away. Hire later, and the cost will become quite ridiculous.

Hiring would also make your team more susceptible to DM and AMF as it would dilute the XP going into your AS and MM.

"Third option is to just keep doing what I'm doing which is training 100% ablative shield and 100% Magic Missile and then occasionally training some more Phantom Link when I think I need it. "

Works well, efficient enough. Overly general and relatively flavorless in the long run though. The more general you make your strategy, the harder it will be for those well below your MPR to farm you, but also the harder it will be to fight those well above it. Specialization is key to finding higher challenge bonus come the later parts of the game, so long as ya don't mind a crappy clan score from being famred by those at half your MPR ~_^

In your position, I would do as so:

I would stay 2-minions, as having 3 minions would just weaken your other two.

On the Enchanter, I would do unlearn Phantom Link, and train a Dispel Magic. The EXP that's put into Phantom Link now could be dumped into DM, and train DM and AS 50/50. You're AS will be bigger because of it's size now, but DM and AS will now grow at the same rate.

On your Mage, I would start training more HP along with your MM. I'm a fan of Evasion, so I might train some of that as well, but other people don't seem to like it much. Without any Evasion, I would train HP and MM as a 1:2 Ratio, or 1/3 and 2/3. That way, if your Ablative Shield takes a hit from a DM, you have some HP to back you up on. It will also cover you against enemy Magic Missile since your Phantom Link is gone.

That's how I would do it.

To add, if you're going to add Guardian Angel, definitely remove your Phantom Link, as absorbed damage does not trigger it.

Thanks for the replies. I will think more about what I am doing soon and make some kind of decision.
