Cheapest way to blend away from home? (in Off-topic)

I need something i can get on the net with to play CB... Something easy to carry, reliable, oh and obviously not expensive. Any Ideas? Im not too familiar with any electronics so any suggestions will do :)

if you do not have a current phone plan, i think the palm pre ends up being cheaper over its life from what i have read. i do have one and it works great for blending! ; )

You could look into NetBooks. They may be a bit cheaper than an Iphone, but it really depends on your cellular plan.

I use an elderly Nokia smartphone (e61) with an unlimited data plan ($15) on AT&[expletive deleted]T. I use Opera Mini almost exclusively (downloading files requires the use of the built in browser).

Even on the edge network here in the middle of nowhere CB is playable. The iPhone is MUCH nicer however.

don't know how to pass your physics final? There is an app. for that.

aren't able to grow facial hair? There is an app. for that.

don't have a girlfriend? There is an app. for that.

need signal? There is... hmm... well, we don't have an app for it yet, but we're pretty sure users don't care about that anyway :)

I got a Motorola Q to play CB on, and while it isn't the best it gets the job done and it's rather inexpensive. If you buy it with a year plan it's only $70. Rather cheap compared to an iphone, or a blackberry.

I guess any net capable phone would work.. like an EnV3 or EnVtouch - which my wife and I use.. ((plug for Verizon - she works there :) )), but you have to buy a data plan if you are going to use the net often, so I guess that is what can be expensive. Those mini computer notebooks look pretty sweet. 6-8 inch screen and then you could also do other more computer-ish stuff also. I would choose something that you have another use for also. (though I wish Verizon used the I-Phone sometimes, but any Blackberry or net capable phone would work. Right?, probably even the Ipod touch.

I had a Blackberry 8330 Curve and the browser in it did not like CB.
You could download Opera as an optional browser, and I had marginally better luck with it, but I still would not recommend it.

unless something has changed, a netbook with a cellular data plan is always going to be more than a web phone with a phone & data plan. the standalone data plans are just quite pricey from my experience. unless you can just buy a netbook and be lucky enough to have wifi hot spots in all the places you need to be away from home.
