Alteil is a card game that I have been playing recently. Its free but once you get to 15 it looses a lot of its appeal unless you start paying. I just create a new account and try the other decks :).

I love elements, but its horribly laggy on my laptop

I found a game called Spectromancer a while back. It was actually designed by Richard Garfield (who designed the original mtg way back when). You can get it pretty cheap on Steam, and I think the demo is actually pretty good. It used to have a pretty good online community.
