That's what I want you to do if you like controversial topics.
Thanks :)

Some people would rather have a discussion than a debate.
The Debate forum, in my opinion, is useless because it forces posters into a specific format. I do not like it.
Therefore, I will continue to post all DISCUSSIONS, not DEBATES about controversial topics here in OT.

if i understand the rules, discussions really have no rules. resistance is futile!

Exactly. The Debates forum does. We can do things here like:
(3) Not commit wholly to tone side of the issue or another.
(5) Simply provide relevant information or ask questions.
(6) Switch sides during the discussion.
(7) Make two posts consecutively.
Lord Bob does have a point...
...Maybe that sub-forum (debates) could be called Debates/Controversy
Or something similar? I'm nitpicking. Yes, I agree about that. Yes, I'll shut up. Yes.
I gotta hang up now, see you. Yes.
Ciao.

wow that was my fault posting in Off-Topic, totally forgot about the debate forum. I honestly haven't read the rules in the debates forum *has homework*
And some people would rather rant than have either a debate or discussion. This is frequently referred to as "Annoying the Informed".

that is if you tag it as a debate, if you tag it as a discussion then those rules do not apply. when i said discussions have no rules, i meant within the debate forum itself if i am reading the guidelines correctly.
The Debate forum is really the Debate/discussion forum. If you make a debate then you have to follow all the rules like that. If its just a discussion then you don't. They both fall under the Debate forum though.
