300 AC (2 questions) (in General)

Let me first say I am back for a while, and I've missed you all.

So I am getting back into the swing of things and think I am going to pick back up where I left off while deciding on whether or not to NCB. That being said, aside from upgrading weapons and Tat, I need to rebuild a wall. With the new DD spells is a pure AC wall still advisable? Is 300 AC still a decent ammount of armor to shoot for as a starting point?

From reading the wiki and playing with some numbers it appears 300AC can be done for $7,204,308 NW. Is that an accurate calculation? I know the actual cost will be more due to higher base prices, but I am really only focusing on NW for now. Basically I was looking at: ADAM +52, AoAC +16, TG +15, CML +34, MS +39, HOD +18,SC +19 as the lowest NW setup.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Well, 300 AC blocks 50% damage without SS, and 63% with SS. I'd say it's a good starting point.

Heya pickle and welcome back! ^_^ Far as whether or not to NCB, I'd say go for it. You could have a character bigger than your current in about 2 months, without having any money to start the NCB with. Even if you have a little difficulty adjusting to any changes you're not familiar with for the first frew weeks, you'll still be much better off than currently within 3-4 months. The NCB will also allow you to superboost your tattoo.

Far as AC, AC is awesome, and 300 is not a bad number to shoot for as long as you see it at the starting point. Another huge thorn in the side of the conventional wall minion you're speaking of is that Steelskin is necessary, otherwise your wall will act as if it has 20% less AC than it actually does by pre-SS standards. Higher base prices might not be near as big a factor as you might be thinking, seeing as since you've left, we've probably quadrupled the number of extant "rare" items, while the current userbase is slightly over half what it was.
