Right now if I click "character attributes" and let's say, HP, then there are 450+ pages to click through if I want to find where my character stands. (Since it stands quite low.)
Any way to quickly search where you stand for a given attribute? I'm not going to be in the top pages for any of them in the near future, but I'd like to see my progression.
(If that is impossible, it could be great if we had an attribute search engine implemented?)
Also, I'd love to be able to see where my pieces of equipment are in the standings, beyond the top 50...
That would be nice. It's fun to see where you measure up if you're not on the first page without searching forever. A stats page with all your trained spells/abilities and their ranking number would be pretty sweet.
And thus, on the seventh day, God developed the manual binary search.
I'm sorry D7, but I have not practiced my Moonspeak in a while, and it's rusty.
"manual binary search"? Sorry, what?
How does one master that technique?
Go to the middle of the list. Compare yourself to that person. If you're higher, do it again with the upper part, if you're lower, do it with the lower part.
Ah, got it. Tedious, though.

I was trying to figure out a way to implement something like this using all character and equipment stats, here is the best I could do:
Player Search
^ is a prototype, it doesn't work, I just made it as a mock up of what I would kinda like.
I can't seem to make it work :( Pressing search does nothing. Maybe I'm just being stupid? Are there any search constraints that HAVE to be present so it works?

Sorry, I updated it to mention that it's just a mock up, it doesn't actually work . ;)
Hah! That's a bummer. It would be a very interesting tool...
Assuming your character has more than 7k HP (you only have to look through 64 pages) , it will only take at most 7 clicks to find the page with your guy on it.
However, checking multiple attributes every day will make the amount of clicks needed very big. Even worse when the server slows down.
The current way to display standings is just not efficient. I'm not dying because of this, but it still in not efficient, and makes searching tedious :P
Well, it should be very easy (I could do it if I knew how to read info off the web and back on) to program it. I'm sure verifex can have it done quickly.
Once you know where you are in the rankings, you can just go right to that spot each time (you won't change by 75894543 pages in a day).
But yes, your idea has merit.
I'm absolutely aware that this is nitpicking ;)
