Went through Flagstaff and it's small town areas last year. Snow walls are highly usual.

Sorry to hi-jack this flight. Found a bit of irony in the recent conservative demonizing of climate change as some NWO movement and hippy greed machine. Via online definition, and my own observational humor, conservatives are:

1. Disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.
~Wow, my head hurts. All I can say is,"When in Rome!" in hopes the reader is a historian.

2. Traditional in style or manner; avoiding novelty or showiness.
~Fox News being a fine monolith to this notion.
Please avoid blogs that link to Fox in the future, kev. It's not healthy to consume any of that as I will prove with #4.

3. Having the power or tendency to conserve and preservative.
~"Drill, baby, drill!"

4.(noun)A preservative.
~Don't eat conservatives, kids.

We're having our first real snowstorm now. I will be late for work today because of it, and that is quite nice.

So I will not complain yet.

Have friends of the family that live in Flagstaff and Tuscon, and this was by far not usual. Winter hasn't officially started and that city recorded a total accumulation that is very close to their total accumulation for the entire month of January.

Here ya go, Gun, eat your heart out (the rhetoric is old/boring):

Wow, it only took one reply before a conservative hijacked it. One reply! I think that's a new record.

You do know that global warming doesn't just mean everything gets warmer, right? However, in case I'm wrong and it does, this has been one of the warmest first weeks of December on record here in Michigan. While moving in to my new place last week I wore only a T-shirt, and I still had to roll my truck windows down to cool off.

QBsutekh137 December 9 2009 11:08 AM EST

Only a T-shirt? Damn, CB really does need pants! *grin*

Sorry, trying to add some levity before the world ends via FOX News.

Lochnivar December 9 2009 11:09 AM EST

there is only one way to hijack a snow thread:

"Only a T-shirt? Damn, CB really does need pants!"

Imagine what my new neighbors must think.

(Yes, I did wear pants. *grin*)

QBsutekh137 December 9 2009 11:25 AM EST

"Honey, there's a crazy pantless man moving in next door! There go property values!"

Lord Bob December 9 2009 11:27 AM EST

Ha!

kevlar December 9 2009 11:31 AM EST

Hijacked? LOL. Wow. If you can be serious about a post and insert that much meaning into a title of an article that was randomly googled, and come up with a couple weeks in Michigan where you wore a T-Shirt.. that's good stuff. Global warming is funny to some, serious to some, and others could give a rats patootie. You guys with the political nonsense is getting kinda scary... to think about all the 'Bush jokes' that flew around everywhere not too long ago... some were pretty dang funny.

I will agree, it was really strange watching football a couple weeks ago and the game in Green Bay was clear and no snow, but other areas had snow and were much colder. Is it still warmer or did the front finally hit?

Lochnivar December 9 2009 11:31 AM EST

I have twice (in my youth) worn shorts to school on days it snows.

I resent the implication that snow + no 'pants' = crazy....

Stupid, yes; crazy, not so much.

no shirt, no pants in Japan >:)

Lord Bob December 9 2009 11:37 AM EST

Kev, you posted an obvious anti-global warming article from a website called quite-rightly with the label Notes from a closet conservative. It's plain to see where you were going with that.

Let this post be the end of it. And no, don't message me to discuss it further. I'm really not interested in dealing with any more conservative blog posts/propaganda/"news"/rantings right now.

Lord Bob December 9 2009 11:38 AM EST

no shirt, no pants in Japan >:) "

Now THAT's funny!

kevlar December 9 2009 11:40 AM EST

LB, you are completely wrong, and it's not the first time. To assume intent is getting ridiculous. The title of the post is all I referred too and I didn't get anywhere as serious as you are now. If you can't handle a joke, I suggest you just not comment at all.

A Lesser AR of 15 [Red Permanent Assurance] December 9 2009 4:06 PM EST

After much swallowing of pride and arteries....
1. Snow walls are still usual.
2. Your intent was obvious.
3. Couldn't find my heart, but the one I ate contained no preservatives.

kevlar December 9 2009 6:44 PM EST

2. I had no intent other to poke fun at global warming. Anything else you take with you is your own burden.

So today was crazy weather. Did a lot of decorating outside and it went from temp in the 40s and blowing vertical rain, to 70mph winds, to rain/sleet, to clear blue sky with the sun fully out and in the low 50's... back to cloudy, 50+mph winds, and mini hail... and temp back in the high 30s!

I think there was a tornado or something if I heard the weather channel right when I was walking through the house. All that snow that tromped across the US came down as rain last night... so we lucked out. Crazy day.

no wonder why i felt a draft...glad i've got a t-shirt! ^d^
