Lose the pluses on the HoC. The AC bonus is not worth the added PR.
Perhaps make the familiar a Steel Familiar and the main character an archer. Halidons are far weaker that character archers, particularly with the new nerf on them. I'm actually thinking of swapping my hal for something better now that it has been neutered. If you do do this keep in mind that you will have to spend heavily to keep your weapon viable.

this does make sense i might do it.
The Disenchant option in Blacksmith page can remove the + that you don't want and return 50% of that NW to you.
