Why mc and gom fails (in General)

A fixed pth boost will never stand up to future increases... They are probably the only thing other then weapons with a fixed boost... I think they should be like elven stuff towards dex and boost pth by a certain % based on + that would certainly be worth it to use on higher mpr chars

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] December 10 2009 7:02 PM EST

Actually because they are a straight increase and pth gets more expensive the higher you get they aren't that bad.

lostling December 10 2009 7:16 PM EST

Even so i hardly expect a large increase in people using these items due to the recent change

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] December 10 2009 7:19 PM EST

No, not really, but I think it is a viable option now. The EC isn't really all that good and if you want to forgo dex the MenC is a very good alternative. As for the GoM it depends on what you are trying to or having trouble beating. In some situations TG will be better in others GoM will be better.

Unless you're using a Morg and a SoC... ;)

On the T char two mild NW items are adding 40 PTh, the largest ToA in game couldn't do that. Best items by far for high end Melee tanks (all two of em)

=x dont see you using them hehe

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 11 2009 1:18 AM EST

I just bought a MenC, waiting to get the GoM. After I complete testing and name a couple things I'll be using them, likely after I start using an RoE.

Rawr December 11 2009 1:19 AM EST

RoE! welcome to my fightlist :D:D:DD

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 11 2009 1:22 AM EST

won't be just you Rawr... I'm going to get beat like a drum

Rawr December 11 2009 2:01 AM EST

I'll be gentle. After all you don't farm me (surprisingly)

I can't see them useful except when countering evasion.. which was kind of the point, but they were so low that even for that they weren't great.

Sure pth gets expensive, but there isn't a reason to have a ridiculous pth without evasion. Maybe if your weapon has a very large X.

"Sure pth gets expensive, but there isn't a reason to have a ridiculous pth without evasion."

Evasion (and DBs) are a pretty good counter to weapons, so having a PTh large enough that most won't reduce it too much is always going to be worthwhile.

Additionally there is a very valid reason to have ridiculous PTH (if you can afford it) - more damage. There's never any reason to hold back on increasing your damage, except maybe as a kind of counter to GA.

Labyrinth would be far scarier using a Morg and a SoC...

iBananco [Blue Army] December 11 2009 7:53 AM EST

The question, though, is whether 15 + will increase your damage output more than 20% ST.

lostling December 11 2009 11:34 AM EST

it depends on how many + you have already

from +0 -
+99 +1 would = 1% -> 0.5% damage increase

from +101 -
+199 +1 would = 0.5% -> 0.25% damage increase

from +200 -
+299 +1 would = 0.25% -> 0.125% damage increase
