25K to find the name of an old Arcade Game (in Contests)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 14 2010 5:04 AM EST

Unfortunately, information is going to be scarce. ;)

The Arcade game I'm after is a 3D scrolling Beat-em-up. Probably either by Sega or Namco. It was a Four Player affair, with 4 Consoles linked to each other.

That's about all I can remember, but I'll know it when I see it! ;)

Borderlands, or Tenchu Z.

Is this game on the 4 player link cable with the xbox right?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 14 2010 5:33 AM EST

Not console based, don't think it was ever released. It was an urban genre game, should have mentioned that!

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 14 2010 5:34 AM EST

Doh! For clarification, it was 4 Arcade Boxes linked together. :/

There is a site that might have it. The list is so long. I would have no idea where to start looking for you, but hoping it would help you out.

Thanks! Will check that list out tonight!

AdminNightStrike January 14 2010 1:55 PM EST

So it's in the style of Final Fight or Double Dragon?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 18 2010 3:35 AM EST

Hectic weekend, not had a chance to check that list yet. ;)

It was like DD/FF, but 3D, with 3D movement, and 4 players.

The only 3D fighting game I know of that had four arcade machines encircled was Virtua Fighter, and that doesn't sound a bit like what you described.

QBJohnnywas January 18 2010 9:24 AM EST

This doesn't ring any bells whatsoever. But serious nostalgia thinking about shoving coins into the machine for Double Dragon!

TrueDevil [AAA] January 18 2010 9:55 AM EST

There are many like the popular double dragon, final fight, such as Golden axe, dynasty wars (3 kingdom based chara), but most of them are 2d side scrolling.

The only ones that I can think of are either Gauntlet or some 3d teenage mutant ninja turtle game. These are the only ones I remember.

Picked Claire up a compilation of old Sega games for our PS3, so spent a night playing all the old beat-em-ups with her. Streets of Rage (Bare Knuckle!), Golden Axe, Altered Beast, etc.

But it wasn't any of those. :(

3D Models, and while Side scrolling, you had limited 3D movement as well.

Gah. A mate and I used to play it years ago in Lakeside (when they still had a small arcade), and he asked me the name of it. For the life of us, we just can't remember!

Very urban, had a geezer with a Tattoo (I think) and the obligatory woman fighter.

The only thing that really stands out is that it was a 4 player game, using 4 seperate arcade boxes.

:(

Can you describe one of the bosses? Or a weapon?

AdminNightStrike January 22 2010 4:04 AM EST

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_beat_'em_ups

If you can't find it there, it doesn't exist!

Pwned January 22 2010 4:19 AM EST

Streets of rage

Pwned January 22 2010 4:22 AM EST

It should be streets of rage 2

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 22 2010 5:08 AM EST

Streets of Rage were 2D sprites. And it didn't have 3D movement (although you could move up/down the screen.

This was well after Streets of Rage.

Sorry NS, I can't remember if there were any weapons. :/ I do remember there being a big flight of stairs in one of the starting stages, and at least one of the dudes having a Dragon Punch clone move.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 22 2010 5:10 AM EST

NS, I've looked on this list already, and it seems to be mostly Console Beat-em-ups.

I don't remember this every being released on a console (at least not over here! :P).

But I'll have another look through it! ;)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 22 2010 5:18 AM EST

Originally, I thought it was 'Fighting Force', but I'm sure that wasn't it, that characters are different (can't remember a massive wrestler guy, and the 'main' guys were a bit different.

But it's in that sort of style.

Demigod January 22 2010 7:26 AM EST

Year, please.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 22 2010 11:21 AM EST

I wish I knew! ;)

Back when Lakeside had an arcade. I'm not sure if it was when I was at uni, or after I had returned. :(
