League of Legends (in Off-topic)

Hi Guys, I saw people talking about this game on the forums this week and decided to give it a try. Ended up loving it and looking for some players to play with.

Some of the Dota Allstars creators actually made this game... HoN (or something similar) is the game made by the other half.

Apparently the other 'version' costs money and is a dota clone.

How crappy? I have one friend that can't play it. If it's modern it should be fine, a few years old maybe not.

As long as your video card has Shaders 2.0 it should be fine... I got a very old comp that can play it (had to change the videocard with one i had laying around)

If you need any tips for playing a champion, let me know. I know how to play most champions, and can give you ideas on what items you want too.

Maybe some of us could even play a practice game some time (though not a normal game, since most of you guys would probably get terribly owned because we'd all be playing at my level :P).

I'm saving up for fiddlesticks though; that whirlwindymoveofepicdeath scares me; and I want it.

I'm level 10 now and getting the hang of champion gankage with ryze.

Yeah I just got to level 10 too. Its starting to make more sense now. I thought you had to keep leveling until 12-13, but I realized that if you start ganking after about level 6-7 you still level pretty fast but then you start hurting the other team. Using the tank characters is also nice because at that point I can stand a lot of damage and still escape if I get too aggressive.

Im Freekie... 3XP from level 9... when i first started i didnt really like it but once you get the hang of its a great time :)

man this LOL game looks like warcraft, is it PVP only or you have entire world of npc to fight?

It is a Dota clone basically

It is pvp only unless you count that you make make games vs computers. The games vs computers are really boring though because the computer plays slightly smarter than the army units that just spawn and kill each other endlessly.

And it does have quite a learning curve. Luckily the game tries to match newer guys with newer guys but there often isn't alot of them Qing up at the same time, so you can get put in games with some real pros which can be discouraging.

Even if that happens (which is possible), our team would have me and four of you guys (all of random skill) versus 5 opponents of average skill. The opponents would all be better than 2, 3, maybe 4 of us, and that would be almost impossible to overcome, especially since I don't play carry champions.

The other possibility would be that it would think you newer guys were new accounts of good players, and would give us even harder opponents. Either way, it ends badly for us! :)

I'm actually pretty good with Ryze now. I can usually go 5+ KD in a game.

I've just discovered that there is an EU server as well as US.

Which ones is everyone on?

I just played and I'm on the US server. What times are everyone on? I couldn't reach any of you guys. I got on at 10:00 Central time. 11:00 Server time. I can't play anymore until after work at about 19:30 Server time.

I have invited everyone one here to my friends list....to make sure you have accepted please check the little box in the bottom right corner once it's open click your previous assignment. I have no clue which server I am on but it's the same as Wraith and salketer.

Also I am finally getting good and able to do well all of the time.

I'm kinda getting good too! My last game was lost because we were all n00bs but I've reduced my deaths by a lot!
My game was like this: 1 2 2. 1 kill, 2 deaths, and 2 assists. I can't wait until I can afford to actually buy a hero. I've got my sights set on Dr. Mundo because he's the most like how I would be, in a fantasy world :p

I think my current best is something like 14/1/8 =]

Haha, enjoy those huge amounts of kills while you can!

You'll end up getting less or less as you start to get better. I'm only averaging 13.5 kills+assists per game on my current main. :(

Eh. All old-school Dota players say that. It's like me saying Doom is the best FPS ever.

I think LoL is an improvement, and a nice evolutionary step for Dota-style games. The original map is limited by the WCIII engine, and it's starting to show it's age...

I just wanted to give this fun little game a bump.

I'm tired of the "Equal Matchups" that are automatically found for me. I always get teamed up with reckless players that don't communicate well, at all. All the teams I fight against have level 30 guys in them, so the reckless players on my team get slaughtered...
If I play, then I want to play with someone who plays safe and keeps their deaths per game to a max of 3, like me ^.^

Its tough to find those types of players, though, but I'm befriending every player that works well with me. I only use Dr. Mundo, as some of you know, and I've won 19 and lost 24. I'm summoner level 14, as of today. Playing it safe is the best way to win, I've found, but I can't really help the losses if my team is a suicidal bunch of IDIOTS, lol.
My stats for Mundo are: 122 kills 153 deaths and 139 assists. I know that doesn't compare to those of you who play champions that easily kill other champs, but I like my way ^.^ My Kills are catching up with my Deaths, due to me nearly perfecting my guerilla style combat maneuvers.
To sum this up: I am much more experienced now and I'm looking for reliable teammates!

P.S. Please post your stats here! I'm very curious to see how good you guys are!

Joel, our CB crew is getting pretty good. I play with Salk and AK a lot and they are getting beastly with their champs. SK is also getting better.

My best game so far is a 15/1/20 with chogath :)

We won that game 4v5 too (we were the 4)

Yeah, I lose a lot of games for that reason, too. I don't usually die more than 3 times, though, and I've had a few games where I never died ^.^

That was the best game that I've EVER had! We should team up EVERY time! You were great with Blitzcrank! We just owned them from the very beginning! I was good at covering your back, most of the time, by throwing a cleaver in the face of your pursuer :p
