FW: RoBF damage (in Debates)

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 9 2010 7:15 PM EST

If the damage type the RoBF had was available as a DD spell, would anyone train anything else?

If you could train it, then you would definitely need to make it counterable by more than it currently is. Mageseeker, or GA, or mageshield for instance might need to be made useful against it. And imagine an ToA archer with trained Balrog Flame....

(I did run a Cloak Of Balrog Flame tank back in the early days of CB2 - was very very good...)

Would I train anything else? Yes. Would it be an integrate part of my team, yes.

I think it would actually be a not so popular spell.

It would be the lowest damage by far, and it would now be subjected to AMF.

However I do think that maybe 50% of the base decay minions would train it intead for damage.

I really don't see teams that run a DD as one of thier damage dealing sources would see a robf caster as more effective.

unless of course you are saying that even though it is a DD it is still not a DD in the sense of AMF.

Yeah I could see about 20% of DD teams swapping to it then.

I was just picturing immune to the backlash effects, not the reduction in damage effects.

I'd be interested in seeing this.

I'd place my bet as;

Initially, loads would change to the new DD. Then quite quickly, most would change back, disappointed by the lack of damage thier main damage dealer now causes.

Imagine changing from a CoC Mage doing 100K per round, to a RoBF mage doing 20K.

What you might see, is it being picked up as an extra on Enchanters. People filling up currently empty slots with it, as any little helps, and it's not like it's really going to hurt your team composition in any way.

But then, it'll occupy the space that base decays might.

Personally, I think you'll see teams with 2 Enchanters running two base decays swapping one out for the RBF DD.

You guys are confused, this spell should never be used as a main source of damage, just a way around ga.
