Hello I am not so computer Savy, however I do take directions well. I am having a couple issues with my computer and would like someone to help me.

1. Is my network connection (wireless)
2. Perhaps a driver not working properly as I completely crash when playing a certain game ever 3 or 4 times I play.

If someone could spend some time with me in the near future I would greatly appreciate it.

if your wireless is dropping your connection try changing the channel it uses

If the wireless is dropping and reconnecting repeatedly, it may just a weak signal.

If a specific game is crashing (and not a flash game), then you may just need to update the firmware for your graphics card/chip.

Can you give any more info?

Okay My internet connection does not drop. Right now I am in the office downstairs connected via cord. usually I connect wireless.
I had to baby sit my step mothers house for a week and a half. I brought along my laptop. and it connected there via cord. it worked fine before. Now when I try to connect wireless to the downstairs office it wont let me. It acknowldges the network but still wont let me.

The crashing during the game, I will have to write down the error it gives me and let you know more once it happens again. Ty for your stime now and in the future.

did anyone turn on mac address filtering on the router? it will let ya see the network, but when you try to connect it won't let ya but it really shows no message saying such, it just kinda keeps trying.

nevermind, that would also block ya wired in as well.

i guess you tried unplugging the ac cord from the router, letting it set a full minute and then plugging it back in? after that, restart the laptop, if it doesn't connect still right click on the wireless icon and then choose "repair".

Well I will have to try these things once I get home after work when I have some time. Hopefully someone is on to give me a little one on one time.

Don't overlook the obvious. I had a laptop that suddenly stopped connecting to the wifi. I spent an hour working with the setting on the laptop and the router before I realized that the laptop has a button on the side that turns wifi off.

I have done that more times than I'd like to say, but if it's crashing repeatedly, I can't see accidentally hitting it 3-4 times in a row without noticing.

So this only ever happens when you're playing a specific game? If so what's the game? Is it League of Legends? I had a problem with LoL such that it would overwork my old router, and the router would reboot multiple times during a game.

AK,

Is your wired router the same as your wireless router?

Often when the computer is showing a connection, but not accessing the internet, then the issue is with the modem or connection to the wireless router. I have seen this a number of times. If you computer is successfully connecting to the router, then it is not on your computers end. Check the connection between the router and the modem.

If your modem connects to you wireless router and you connect using a cable to this router and are still having problems, then I am do know.
