My dad worked at Next. According to him, the Next cube was basically killed by Jobs himself insisting that it was constructed out of magnesium because while wildly impractical, it looked pretty.

He also told me Jobs was one of the most frustrating people to work with.

Some college actually did test with the cubes flamability...

I had 3 cubes at one point, damn things weighed about 75 pounds, I can't imagine that much magnesium ignighting at once.
