PS3 help! (in Off-topic)

I have recently acquired a used PS3 without a hard drive... the old one was abused. I have since bought a hard drive for the PS3, it is 320 gb.

I need to know how to install the operating system for the PS3. I've tried the update but it's only an update not the full OS.

there was a recent update for the ps3(most recent 3.2 or soemthing). which will not allow you to have another OS on your ps3.

have you tried the recovery menu as well? it was introduced in update 2.5. look up youtube, videos on how to get to the ps3 recovery menu. this menu boots the ps3 using minimal resources.

i got it working, had to find a full os took a while but yeah
