Character Setup Help (in General)

Kensei [Sword Saints] April 26 2010 2:29 PM EDT

I was just wondering if anyone could look at my character Kensai, and give me some tips on how to make it better. I've been trying a few different things and nothing has seemed to work right. So if you could help it would be greatly appreciated.

First off, you need to fire 2-3 minions. When you're just starting out, you want to concentrate your xp gains into 1-2 minions. Build a strong foundation before diversifying.

Ok fired 2 of them, the only reason I had 4 was because I wasn't winning very much.

You can start will all four when you have a clear gameplan. But for now, here's what I saw:

1. Ditch the lesser for a regular tattoo when you get a chance.

2. I noticed both DM and AMF. Make sure your ratios aren't wonky. Another player can explain this better than I.

3. You have four damage dealers. You may want to lose one or two. You might consider GA and CoC as your hard-hitters, which means going with a different tat or a regenerating PL wall.

Well, I'm late to the party. Nevermind.

You need some hp survivability. You also still have 3 damage dealers setup. I would suggest you might train AS on the CoC minion and drop the CoC.

OK dropped CoC and trained AS. Should I drop the dm or switch it out for something else?

Demigod April 26 2010 3:05 PM EDT

The basic rule is that DM is best for killing in ranged and AMF is best for fights that go long into melee.

Kensei [Sword Saints] April 26 2010 3:07 PM EDT

So if I want the fight to end quickly I should keep DM?

Demigod April 26 2010 3:58 PM EDT

Reverse the cause and effect thought process. If you want to attack hard in ranged to kill quickly, then you're better off with DM.

Alright thanks everybody. So far my new setup is working like a charm.
