Sparticus: Blood and Sand (in Off-topic)
So at like 2am I was bored with playing Starcraft 2... (or at least wanted a break after 10 hours lol) So I fire up the netflix via xbox, and watch episode 1 of Sparticus: Blood and sand. Looked like my kind of movie, I remember previews for it!
It's basically like Gladiator and 300 had a lovechild... It's amazing.
I watched episode one, and ended up watching the entire 13 episode series. (Each episode is an hour long)
I highly recommend it if you liked 300, OR gladiator, I doubt you'll be disappointed. It sucked me in, I couldn't NOT watch the next episode :D.

Kill them all! Wonder about next season? I think they delayed filming because the lead actor is ill. Very graphic show.
Are they making another season? That would be pretty sweet, I can't search for such things at home due to dialup :O *cries*.
Seen the first couple of episodes.
They took a very strong stance with 'sparticus's' abilities. But I won't say any more. ;)
I quite like the 300 style cinematography for the Gladiatorial fights. And it's not used throughout, which stops oversaturation.
I'm looking forward to watching the rest!
Meh, not really GL, he gets owned and owned and owned and owned, and finally snaps and "becomes" if you will ^^.
Unless that in itself isn't true to history? I really don't know the "true" story of Spartacus, I've only gown up hearing the name randomly.

The old orginal movie is great, although I'm a fan of all those old movies.
The new series is also very good, I highly recommend it.
(Slight Spoilers)
I thought (from the first couple of episodes) that it wasn't about the 'real' spartacus. Which I kinda like. ;)
What I ment was he was shown to be quite good, and was pushing his way for a spot at the top.
And instead of cheaping out and making him some kind of prodigal 'uber' gladiator, he gets pwned. ;)
Badly!
Was a nice, strong, touch.
Ahh, yeah I know what you mean! I watched the entire thing in one sitting, that being said, I REALLY liked how they made him 'human'. I also expected him to be some kind of legend that just owns everyone right out of the gate... They did a really good job of portraying his struggles.
Also the actor himself is a BEAST! He reminded me of the crazy guy from SLC: Punk, but it's not!! Hmm
Also...
I didn't even notice XENA!!!! Yes... that ... really... is.... Lucy Lawless... WOW! for every episode I was like, damn that girl looks so familiar to me...
XXEEEEENNNAAAA!!!!! =D
LoL!
Xena with fluffers. ;)
We had to stop part way through one episode.
A bunch of naked men (with some full frontal) proclaiming "This is the house of Battyartus" was too much for most! ;)
I know right!!! GL you have to finish the episodes so we can act like little school girls and be like OMG. =)
I know what you're talking about, and assure you there are like 2 scenes in the whole series. The one you stopped at... (god, I was sitting with my mom when that came on :O) and later on Crixus gets... evaluated... :O
Well, actually there are a few minor other scenes, but nothing you can't blink and be done with. *shrug* Silly Romans and their nekkidness.
LoL! :P
We stopped from tears of laughter.
There was something about a bunch of naked men and the name battyartus that set most off! ;)
(It's probably due to our diferent slang over here!)
But I do so want to finish this series, then I'll be right there joining you! :D
