Network port-forwarding help (in Off-topic)

Hi guys, I'm trying my luck here to see if someone could help me out on this one.

I have a modem-router AND a router. The reason why I do not use the router feature from the modem is that it does not have wireless and does not have enough room to plug all the computers. The WAN input of the router connects to the modem and everything is fine.

My problem is that I am not sure how to port forward correctly since there are 2 devices. I have tried to forward all ports from the modem to the router and then forward them to the correct PC but it does not seem to work as intended as some of the chosen ports are still closed/blocked.

I did turn off all and any built-in firewall for testing purpose without any better result.

Am I missing something here?

DMZ your second router from the modem/router, then use its native routing/forwarding.
