This tournament will be a test of the new tournament score system as well, so try as hard as you can to break it! You won't be able to see the T-score of a character (yet?) but you should be unable to affect any normal scores.

when the tournament does get going, we need to test whether the issue when your ba regen rate is set based on a tournament character due to that team being your largest one. nightstrike thinks it is fixed and if those fitting the criteria stated above could watch for it and let us know that would be great.

I am a bit confused about the rules.

* You may not use Decay unless told otherwise.
* You may not use tattoos unless told otherwise. Only lesser tattoos will ever be allowed.
* You may not name items, or use named items

1) Is Decay allowed?
2) Is Tattoos allowed?

Given that some tournament chars use tattoos and given this line, I am just gonna go ahead and wear one:

"There is now a tournament only store. Items allowed will vary by tournament. "

i may have missed this along the way, but we can no longer retire tournament characters?

that is odd then, i certainly cannot. i have tried 3 times now with the same result.

I have retired like 4 characters in tourney...

There seems to be a lot of feeding going on in this tournament....Is there a reason for this? Like are they testing stuff with the score system or no?

P.S. Please don't say this isn't going on with win percentages like 23.81, 27.06, 11.11, 36.54, 38, ect on tourney characters its hard to not call that feeding....its not even 1 to 1.

i have a 37 percent win ratio and it is legit. with the lower game being what it is, it was better to fight t characters and draw with a 100 percent challenge bonus as opposed to fighting non t characters and winning with a negative. i possible could have found a non-t opponent that gave me better winnings, but would have had to burn up too much ba to find it and with a 2500 ba tournament that is not a good option either.

others may be doing things in a non-legit way, but looking at win percentages proves nothing other than the lower game is borked, which we all knew if we have been paying much attention.

Definitely makes it tougher because all the score's in the tourney are being dragged down. Makes getting that 100% that much harder.

furthermore, if you have one player who can always win on a double-tap against a 100% challenge bonus opponent, he will have a 50 percent win ratio. another player that draws 90 percent of the time and wins the other 10 percent against a 100% challenge bonus player will only have a win ratio of 10 percent.

which one is playing smarter? if both are t characters, the smarter player is likely the one who drags down his opponents score the least while boosting his the least as so as to not build up his opponents as much.

i have no data to show about either, but win ratios really don't mean didley when you take all of this into account.

I am not complaining about double taps or draws...even triple attacks could be good in some cases but when you do 4,5, or even no wins between attacks I fail to see how your not feeding.

Some people are just too lazy to find new opponents EoD. Causing them to feed unintentionally.

I don't know, that's why I quit after a few hundred BA, didn't have time to play.

What makes it worse is they have been feeding to the top teams...making it hard for the rest to catch up.

Aside from the fact the people that are going to win this tourney will have won well more then 30% of their challenged fights.

if only the diehard competitors played in each tournament, we would likely have 3 to 5 people at best.

people can learn to be competitive in tournaments by playing with those competitive players though and seeing how they do things which is why there is a participation prize. i am of the mindset that the more the merrier and would love to see tournaments where 100 people are playing, even if they aren't all being competitive.

some play to test out new strategies as well. it is a cheap way to do this with the equipment store the way it is now.

if you do think people are cheating message them and ask why they are doing what they are doing or contact the tournament admin, that is what they are here for and they are responsive. many of the rules we have now as well as the equipment store changes were brought about due to players interactions with slayer.

historically, this is one reason that highest mpr wins tournaments were dropped in favor of more creative scoring ones.

i have the suspicion that the only reason we went back to one is to simply test the score system and make sure that it is all working correctly. i doubt any of the tournament admins wanted to work a bunch to have a tournament killed off in the beginning due to a buggy system.

i went into it with that mindset at least not expecting much other than bug-testing. hopefully any negative issues with this tournament will not keep people from trying in the future. ; (

This particular tournament is mainly a bugtesting period for NS and a few others. That said, reporting any foul play within the tournament should be done directly to me, and I assure you I do look into every case.

The only threats to the position was Kefeck and Coldsummer. None of them are threats anymore.

Just so you're all aware, the tournament scoring thing is still not working correctly. The ideal, in the end, will be that tournament parties will not remove any score from the non-t side of the game.

That's not working yet? I was under the assumption that we couldn't remove score anymore from my testing, just that some other small parts weren't working. Like normal chars fighting each other doesn't update their tourney score.

I just set all t-scores = score for T52. I suggest training (zero xp is ok) before fighting again.

i didn't see any at one, but i know that my score as well as all of my favorite opponents scores (all t chars) dropped around the same time and dramatically. it didn't seem to be one drop and then everyone else's went down it was more like everyones reset or something.

I'm not sure. I did fix a bug where t-parties weren't syncing score and t-score. Maybe as those parties were involved in fights, things worked themselves out.

That's why we needed a test tournament after all. This score caching thing is very complicated.

My score has now settled at 12k, which is a bit of a loss from 500k-ish.

With scores looking like they do right now, I might "rob" Elite of his first place, which is unfair.

(Sure.. the reason I spent my 2500 BA as quick as I could was that I knew that I could not get a better challenge bonus than 100%, but there was a risk of getting less).

Nonetheless, I wasnt expecting that everyone would lose all their score.

Mines at 10k. i must have been using my turns when you guys were screwing with stuff. because there is no way with my win% that i should have fell out of top 2.

That's more a function of me fixing the auto-retire-email-chatmailer, combined with the big score loss everyone faced. Fight a few battles and your score will go up. If you auto-retire, I'm sure Slayer will still consider you as eligible. There's a reason that this tournament isn't score based, after all.

It's not our own score's we care about.. It's the score's of our targets, had the score drop not of happened elite would have ran away with the mpr lead and I would of been in second right behind him. Right now it's looking like Controlfreek will end up winning this tournament instead.

Well.. Kefeck... sorry to disagree, but you too bought your minions early.
I think the fact that I bought mine with only 40 BA to spare and only fought 500 battles or so with lower than 100% CB would have given me second even with no score drop.

Minion purchase gives MPR according to EXP on the largest minion (experimented prior to starting this tourney), so buying one halfway into the game equates to a severe loss in MPR.

Prior to buying my "expensive" minion, I had 277k MPR. A single minion character buying the expensive minion will increase by 1/9 in MPR.

I cant remember exactly when you bought your expensive Kefeck, but you did not have close to 277k MPR on the first one.

I bought my first large minion halfway through because then the price of the large minion is cheaper and I would have enough cash to buy two large one's. I'm willing to bet you never could have afforded to buy two large minions if you waited till so late in the tourney.

Hmm I don't understand this new score system. Like I found someone with a score of 900k+ but his tourney score is only 250k? Why is that?

His T-score will be based on what his score was at the start of the tournament. He could have fought his way up to 900k since then.

My guess is that the t52 character lowered his score with all the draws?

Because then when we attack targets their score is lowered more which in turn lowers our rewards faster.

I just want to state That I am not intentionally gimping my character. I Had to sell all of my items in order to afford to hire a cheap minion. I would do it at the last second but I am not 100% sure I will be on before the tourny ends.

I fear I may place 4th again. GL to all.

Advantage goes to those who spent BA early from the 100% bonus.

Early on another player and I farmed ltachi and gained a high score which in turn brought us all up in score hence the 100% Bonus. Then once NS did his thing it brought all the scores down lowing the bonus, which is why the early birds got the worm this time.

I am not complaining as it was notified at the start that this would be a test of the tourny score system. I also understand that this will improve future tourny play which makes me happy :-)

Kind of like the major road constuction. Sucks for 2 years but after that it's awesome for the next 20 years. :-)
