NUB Strategy Help (in General)

Carrick May 5 2010 8:10 AM EDT

I was just wondering what would be the best way to maximize my earning capabilities. What equipment, minion number and what to train. Any help would be much appreciated.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] May 5 2010 8:12 AM EDT

DD of Choice, preferably a Ranged one. And as little items as you can wear.

Not using a tattoo could give you better rewards, but growing a tattoo to sell would probably be worth more.

May I ask why you're interested in maximising your Earning capabilities? And not your character growth.

I hope you're not intending on using the gear you've been given just to earn some cash to sell out with at the end of your Bonus time.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] May 5 2010 8:14 AM EDT

fight all of your battles everyday including the ones from the get more link in the ba section in your left pane.

win as many of those as possible. you can use your recent battles as a fight list to make sure you are fighting only those opponents you can win against. you will have to move up often but winning your battles is the most important thing for maximizing rewards.

Carrick May 5 2010 8:23 AM EDT

No, I am not planning on selling out at the end of the bonus. I want to be able to afford better items and all that stuff. I was just curious what I should do, because I saw in chat that it is possible to make 1 million in a week. If I recall correctly what I saw. But maybe I am mistaken.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] May 5 2010 8:50 AM EDT

With the New User Bonus, you will have little trouble gaining enough cash for any items you're after.

If there's something specific you really want, trade/sell some of your existing items for it.

Kirin May 5 2010 9:01 AM EDT

you can make at least 100k a day if you use all your ba and win two thirds of your battles.

Demigod May 5 2010 9:06 AM EDT

The strategy won't really affect your earnings, just how much spend. I put the majority of my NUB earnings in my bow, and I rather like my powerful toy. The money comes easy as long as you use all of your fights. Just be sure to click "get more" every day, as it's free for the first six months.

Carrick May 5 2010 9:51 AM EDT

How much of a dent will it leave if I am unable to use 100% of the fights I get in a day?

VsCountStrum [Black Watch] May 5 2010 10:00 AM EDT

As stated before, as a NUB, you really do not need to worry about money that much. Give it a week or so and it will start really flowing. My NCB is only about 2.5 weeks old and will make over 1 mil this week.

An NCB, does not get the cash bonus that an NUB does, so you should be fine soon.

Demigod May 5 2010 10:01 AM EDT

You're not going to be able to get 100% while you're at 10 BA regen every 20 minutes. But as far as how much you'll lose, just fight a couple of times and check your average earnings, then multiply it by how much BA you miss each day.

Remember that you'll reach 9 BA regen and 8 BA regen pretty quickly, though. That means you won't have to miss as much.

Kirin May 5 2010 10:02 AM EDT

that's simple calculations if you know how much BA you get and how much BA you use.

Total Rewards / BA Used = Average Rewards per BA

Average Rewards per BA * Constant BA gained in a day = 100% rewards

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 5 2010 10:04 AM EDT

You should make about a million a day average.

Carrick May 5 2010 10:05 AM EDT

I will have to take your word for it because I just don't see how a million a day is possible.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] May 5 2010 10:44 AM EDT

Taking an average cash reward for myself (with 42% Challenge Bonus) of $259.

I have a 483% NCB, so would have a 483% Cash increase, making that $1,510 per fight.

Assuming 6 hours of regen at 9/20 and a full 160 of BA to wake up to gives 322 BA, and I can purchase 216 (which you get for free), makes a total of 538.

At my size, I could therefore earn around $812,380 per day (not counting the tiny amount used per fight to heal.

Making a Mil a day isn't too far fetched.

And this character has only been going a week.

Carrick May 5 2010 5:34 PM EDT

I can't even manage to beat anyone at a 25% challenge bonus haha. I think I am doing something wrong.

Demigod May 5 2010 5:39 PM EDT

The early game is nuts, but it will get easier as you grow larger. Just remember, when you find a high challenge bonus, ride the heck out of it.

Carrick May 5 2010 5:43 PM EDT

I am trying to do that. I just don't know if a single minion is the best way to do this.

Demigod May 5 2010 5:54 PM EDT

I know the wiki says single minion mages are good to start with, but they are tough to pull off. When in doubt, you can hire a 2nd, but be sure you know what you want him to do -- firing one down the road isn't a good option.

Remember that it really doesn't matter what team you have, that early game is still nasty. Once you're large enough to have a set fightlist in favorites (greatest supporter benefit ever), things get much easier.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] May 5 2010 5:55 PM EDT

One thing I really wish people would stop assuming is that the NUB gives a straight increase to rewards. The actual increase in rewards is only something around 25%.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] May 5 2010 6:18 PM EDT

;)

I was waiting for this response. I was sure that the NUB got reduced cash rewards when the free BA came in, but I couldn't find any reference to this in the wiki.

I'm sure it's in an old changelog somewhere.

(Still, the $259 was a low amount for myself, even if the bonus is only a quarter of what it used to be, it's not unreasonable for people to hit 1 Mil a day with it)

iBananco [Blue Army] May 5 2010 7:20 PM EDT

25% doesn't sound right at all.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] May 5 2010 7:33 PM EDT

Well I suspect that the exact bonus may probably be 48.3% increase to rewards. But it is somewhere in the range of 25-50% increase. In order to find out though I would need the help of a NUB with some spare time.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] May 5 2010 8:16 PM EDT

Yeah, it's around 50% ; but the free BA really adds up.
