So like I cannot sleep (in Off-topic)

Its true... For the life of me I can't fall asleep. I've taken stuff to help me sleep, but it just doesn't seem to be working...

How's everyone doing?

Heat wave. Best temp around 25 C (77 F), either when raining or when very close to dawn. Worst temp... above body temperature. So, yeah, ouch. Obviously, sleep patterns (which weren't great to begin with) thoroughly disrupted.

As for stuff to make you fall asleep... pills don't really help much. They don't actually help sleeping, they just knock you out. You might get physically rested (at least a bit anyway), but your mind doesn't really get the relaxation it should.

I can't tell you what might help you fall asleep, but I can tell you what will PREVENT you from having a nice sleep : incomfortable temperature (obviously), thirst or hangovers (even hangovers-to-come, as in, you had a bit of alcohool recently), recent physical activity (it tires you physically but also gives you an adrenaline rush which makes it difficult to fall asleep), stimulants (nicotine, coffeine, even to some degree sugar or too much food) and last but not least, stress of all kinds (excitement at wanting to do something specific, worrying too much about anything in particular or just general anxiety).
If you can eliminate most of those above reasons for NOT getting a good sleep, sleep should "come naturally".
