Curious about max tat.... (in General)

So when I was leveling Zen's tat my max tat was at Max tattoo : 15,341,520 while his tat is only The War Wizard Gift lvl 14,807,897...

Without a named tat equipped my max tat is Max tattoo : 14,751,604

So why didn't his tat level at all... my max tat with a named tat equipped is over what his tat's level was... but for some reason it didn't gain any level at all... can someone fill me in as to why?

I thought your max tat level was changed to show the level that you could equip with a named tat... in essence it boosts your max tat 4%? so what happened to this then?

Let me clarify. Your MTL is still 14,751,604 not the 15,341 it shows. What happened before was that with a named tat you still couldn't level it until after your MTL covered the 4% extra levels. Now as soon as your MTL (14,751,604) gets over the tat level 14,807,897 it will start leveling.

Then what the heck is the whole increasing the displayed MTL about?

Just like I said, Originally your tat wouldn't start getting leveled until the MTL hits 15,400,212 That's where it will still start leveling. But before there wasn't the increase to your MTL.

It would really make things less confusing for people if the displayed MTL just wasn't increased but it still did the same thing it shows now for practical purposes.

I thought it was supposed to be done to make it easier so you didn't have to do the math... but i guess you still have to...

It was done so that it worked right, not to make it easier on people. Before you had to have a 4% larger character to level a named tat.

So the stats are misleading now...

yes, just use the base MTL for any leveling purposes.
