Which of these is the damage I am doing?
Sanosuke Sagara's shield flashes! [126,827]
Sanosuke Sagara pounded Valor [123603]
Sanosuke Sagara draws strength from his weapon! [9783]
It cannot be both, as the opponent I struck in that round had under 200k HP and lived. So I am wondering what these numbers mean?

Or rather, I'm sure it is the 2nd damage that I am doing, but what is the first number that goes along with the flashing shield?
The flash is the raw damage that the shield puts out. That is then added to your own damage and then both are reduced by opponents AC, ToE, ect.
Increased damage modifiers like BL or the MoD's innate x2 vs AS are also applied.
