Lets talk strategy (in General)

I currently am using Monk/Ench and have just about everything I need for that minus an AoF. I am thinking thou that I should add a third minion, but unsure of what would go well with my current setup without altering my two current minions. Any suggestions?

Using UC requires a fairly large commitment of XP, I'm fairly certain a third minion would keep you from ever reaching the "useful" levels of UC.

So would a Monk/Ench be able to keep up with the top MPR characters when my ncb runs out or should I start stocking up on other gear to build up another strat?

i do not see uc as being viable at the top due to its non-linear damage formula. the possible exception is a junctioned jiggy team, but even that will not keep up with other damage as the game progresses without some intervention by the devs.

Any suggestions as to what I should try to run then?

I prefer to pick a goal outside of general competition myself, but if I was just going for cheap clan fighting you can't beat 4 minion AS AS GA DM/AMF with a familiar.

Dudemus: I would agree, except I think the SoC is the solution for UC's damage (versus physical teams, which it does best against anyway.)

Not so much concerned with clan fighting as I am clawing myself to the top of the overall charts

the soc definitely helps even things out for now but still since uc is the only non-linear damage type in the game, without intervention it will always fall behind sooner or later. we just don't know where that point is but with the investment needed to try for the top i don't think i will ever go with any uc-based team again.

Well I start my search for some new pieces and will continue this strat until I have the gear to start something new.

nov's advice is very sound. especially since you are running an ncb. you wouldn't need that much money to upgrade items and therefore could put the rest into ba focusing on bonus xp times.

Ok so what I am looking for is a strat that will say be in the top 5
