Leaving your Mark (in Contests)

It's been hectic since the opening gun, here's a summary of what's happened so far. If you have more or less marks than I'm giving you please CM me with what threads you think you got valid kills in and I will research it.

Natasha is currently leading with 5 valid kills.
Meteor Phoenix is a close second with 4 valid kills.
Slayer and GL both have 1 valid kill.

As a side note, about half of those kills were from people leaving themselves exposed after attempting an invalid kill.

Now for the actual event tied with this thread.

All posts in this thread that are between 00 and 49 minutes of every hour are free to assassinate on.

All posts between 50 and 59 minutes of every hour are immune to assassination.

You read server timestamp for knowing where you lie, so basically 10 minutes out of every hour you can post and be immune.

Every so often (basically when i'm at the computer and thinking of it), i will post another respons in this thread at the start of one of the immune phases. If you post after me, then you have a chance to win. The last person to post before the server clicks over to the next hour will get to leave thier mark on someone else competing for it.

So say 6 people post after I do, the 6th person to post gets to pick one of those other 5 people and send me a CM telling me which one of them they want to mark.

If you're the only one to post after I do then you have nobody to mark and that hour is wasted.

If you are tying to just barely beat out the server time and happen to post too late then that post is open for assassination.

Too late is for example 5:00 pm. 4:59 would of been fine, as soon as it clicks over, you're up for being marked.

Feel free to ask questions here, just remember to do it between 50 and 59 as I am not making question posts immune to assassination here, just the timestamps matter.

can no more assassins enter now, in effect we have the total amount in now?

if anyone wants to join they can at anytime do so by posting in the join thread. However there is no advantage to joining late as you need to kill everyone once, so they are already behind.

If someone get a mark on everyone and is declared 1st place and then someone else joins, they still are first place, but in order for 2nd place to finish they also need to get the new person.

Anyone who has a declared ranking may kill late joiners if they wish however it doesn't affect the outcome at all.

The chance to wound someone posting in that time frame only comes right after you post right?

Also do these posts count towards the 1 post a day minimum? Or do you have to post somewhere else as well?

can failed assassination attempts in this thread, during the immunity timer still be marked... i am assuming no.

If you make a post during the 00-49 minute window it counts as your 1 post a day.(as long as it's not an assassination post) If you post as part of one of these events then that post doesn't count.

if you try to assassinate someone during the immunity then you fail, however you are also immune to posts so you can't be killed. It's just a wasted post.

As a side note to this, I will be doing the posts for this contest in character and they will sort of be themed as a fierce battle going on between contestants, so that's why a mark is left. So feel free to post multiple times in the window, fighting back and forth with each other in character if you want, and then go for the last post in the window.

Then i'll send that person a CM with a list of everyone that participated and ask who they want a mark on. Then they get that free mark.

anyone participating in the event might want to refresh the thread right as the event ends as well to see if anyone just barely missed the window....of course there are probably a few people doing this, so just remember to name the person you are trying to kill as you make the post. It's my full intention to see people fighting for the free mark and if someone misses the window, to continue that fighting into overtime.

After watching the Kill Bill marathon last night you decide to see if there is any truth to these Japanese sword makers, a sword that sharp would be very useful in some situations. After searching for about a week you finally get led to a small dojo on top of a mountain on an island just south of Japan mainland.

Upon entering the small building you sense you've been followed, or possibly just that you ran into someone you weren't expecting, either way you get on the defensive. As you stealthily move over to a rack of katanas you see someone move into the room behind you. He steps into the room holding another of the razor sharp weapons and then you both turn to see a third opponent approaching through a side door.

You re-establish your grip on the weapon, test its balance and prepare to end your opponents

Of course I was one of the ones who had come here, and I was going to be the one who would mark an opponent; not the other way around. I slipped into the room as silently as possible...

MP wins and gets to mark dudemus. Also, these need more warning I think, so I'll be posting the even closer to 20 min prior rather than right at the window from now on.
