I know I'm a little late into the game, but I just got starcraft. I've been playing for a week now, so I'm not terrible, but if more seasoned players want to drop some tips, go for it.

I was watching my roommate play the beta a few months ago, and it seemed to me like everyone just rushes.
Rushing as in 5 min games? The beta has gone through some changes since then and there are several tactics which can help prevent getting rushed however games do tend to be short lasting only 5-15 minuets usually. Unless of course people turtle or refuse to surrender.
It's a rushing game after all... but there are custom games that are always fun. I uninstalled Starcraft to make room for the 50000000gig warcraft patch for 4.0.1.... haven't been interested in reinstalling...
No chat rooms kinda killed it for me, made it a very lonely online experience.
