Well, work finally did it, and in a rather insidious way.
They didn't block access to CB, which is what I would have expected. No, they've rolled out software we use to safeguard students onto all staff PCs.
What this software does, is when triggered (usually by a specific word or phrase), is to take a screen capture of the PC triggering it. Saving everything on screen at the time to be investigated.
Woot...
Very effect for safeguarding students, but now CB is a no go area for me at work. Which has effectively hammered the final nail into the coffin of any idea I had of running another NCB.
I could use my phone to pay CB, but unfortunately I get limited and intimitant reception in my office, which puts paid to that as well.
:(
CB has been a massive part of my life for over 5 years. You've been here for me through highs and lows. I have met some of the most amazing people in the world here. So stopping popping in is going to be very hard. But without the game to draw me, I see my visits becoming less and less frequent.
It seems the one thing I really loved about CB that other similiar games lack, the fast regeneration of resources, is going to be the major reason I can no longer play. :( I guess I need to find a slower paced game that I can play in an evening, and won't have wasted any resource refesh by the time I come home in an evening.
Well take care everyone, you've been the best virtual family a guy could have asked for. ;)

you can still buy BA after your NCB and make $... shouldn't stop playing on account to losing hours during the day :( I'd hate to see ya go! I agree with novice: IT guys enjoy feeling important, be-friend them! :)

No!!!!!! That's a sad day. I'm probably not far behind the way my job is going. Every so often my proxy doesn't work, one day the firewall will catch me....

That's quite a draconian method. I can't imagine accepting that much privacy lost to big brother, but it is England. :(
How about switching phone providers to one without a dead zone?

And at least join the CB guild on Shakes & Fidget! That game is a once-a-day thing, so you can still keep up your contact with us there!

Ditto to S&F working with your nighttime schedule.
for the better part of 6 years ive been playing cb only when not at work, so i used to run ncbs and miss all that ba while at work.
if you want to find something you can pick up and put down in an evening would be a console. buy a DSLite and buy an r4! i love it
