Clan disbanding threshold changed (in Changelog)

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] January 5 2011 10:20 PM EST

The clan threshold has been changed from this, "Clans with a net weekly negative score of -1000 are disbanded" to this "Clans with a net weekly negative score of -2000 are disbanded." This should be active after cache flush and is brought about in part by this thread:

wiki updated as well, thanks ns!

Great job with the speedy change, but realistically, doesn't this mean that almost no clan will disband? At least, no clan that should?

Just as a note. IF you hit negatives you can turn on Ulmo's SoS and you immediately stop losing any points for the next 6 hours unless you get back into positives and get a bonus.

AdminNightStrike January 5 2011 10:39 PM EST

I don't think you can buy a ritual with negative points.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] January 5 2011 10:43 PM EST

I've done it before. You can't buy a ritual if i'm not sure which it is but its either if you would go over the disband point or are already in the negatives beyond the cost of the ritual itself. Before I could activate it at -500 or higher but once I went beyond -500 I couldn't activate SoS.

If it's gonna be activity-based, could we do it where it's based on gross points? This way a team isn't penalized for being farmed and is strictly judged according to their activity. Doesn't have to be anything extreme, say x amount of fights a week, even if just 100-200..

Demigod January 5 2011 11:33 PM EST

How would you set it to gross points? You can't go negative, and you can't set it to zero without disbanding everyone. The only way I can think of is to say that if you stay at zero gross points for a week, but that would destroy all of the dead clans.

{cb1}dyno January 5 2011 11:48 PM EST

Is that a bad thing? Honestly asking.

Yes

Demigod January 5 2011 11:53 PM EST

This is from the other thread and explains it a bit better than just "yes." :)

Admindudemus 6:40 PM EST -- i don't really see it getting that bad either, but if we only had 20 active that would mean five getting a bonus which might make it 15%, 12%, 9%, 6% & 3%. i am unsure of how it scales though so that is really just an example of how it could affect bonuses.

Natasha' 6:47 PM EST -- You are forgetting that those 5 clans getting the bonus would be pretty set. There might be 10 clans getting the bonus over the course of a week, the other 10 clans never see a bonus at all. How long would it be before the people in those 10 clans just get fed up with never seeing a bonus?

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] January 5 2011 11:56 PM EST

I think we would need 1 of two potential changes if we were to get rid of all the inactive clans.

1) Change the bonus from the top 25% to all positive clans with the bonus divided evenly of course.

2) The bonus is determined by the % amount of points you have compared with the top clan. This means that the top clan gets the full 15% and however much smaller your clan is gets their bonus dependent on how much points they have comparatively. If the top clan had 15k points each 1k points you had would be worth 1% bonus.
