small bug (chat) (in General)

I ask for 10 lines of chat, it gives me 7.

20 gives 17

5 gives 2, so somewhere 3 lines are missing

7 gives me 5.
Could it possibly be due to screen size?

Could you give more clarification? I need the exact steps you're taking so that I can see for it myself. How do you ask for x lines of chat?

It's in the settings page. Also the reason that it gives less is because it includes the line for entering chat as well as that large border (which I would be happy without) I think.

Demi just wants one font size larger...

I've finally tried out that feature. All it does is resize the frame height the chat applet resides in.

Since the frame height is not permanently set to that height, you can resize it yourself everytime you login in the meantime. I'm not sure if there is a better calculation to get the correct height.

Since everyone clammed up in chat, I'll post my theory here too. I think the value that is being set is being used correctly, but not for the value we expect. Setting it to 7 gives me 4 lines of chat, plus a line for the input, the header ("Chat room: carnage") and a line of padding on the bottom... 7 lines. Trying different values results in the same -- the set # of lines - 3 = how many lines of chat in the chat window are shown.

So I think the calculations are "right", but they are applying to the number of lines in the whole applet, rather than just the number of lines in the chat window itself.

Setting the display value in the dropdown box on the settings page to be -3 its current value would be more accurate since everyone (correctly) supposes that lines of chat = lines of chat in the chat window, not total lines in the applet.
