I experimented with polyphasic sleep for a year and a half, and it was one of the most productive times of my life. I slept for two two-hour period per day, 5AM-7AM and 8PM-10PM. I only fell back into a normal monophasic sleep pattern because I ran out of things to do at 5AM on Tuesday nights.

If you can spare the two weeks or so it takes to adjust, and are willing to spend that time being exhausted, I highly suggest trying it out. It might work for you, it might not, but I know I had a great experience with it.

This is amazing because I was just thinking about possibly doing something like this. I have just recently adjusted my sleep schedule while working hard and feel quite exhausted.

Ijust started my second week of the new schedule, I wonder if I am fully adjusted yet...

I did forget to note that I adjusted by sleeping two one-hour periods a day, which really forced my body and mind to adjust to very little sleep.

Btw, I have tried something called "sleep transfer" and I really enjoyed it. It consists of say waking up 2 hours early and perform the tasks you would normally perform when you usually wake up; say for 15-30 minutes. Then you go back to sleep and you dream alot deeper. :)
