Suggestion to EH (in General)

BestNUB April 18 2012 5:20 PM EDT

Right now, since FB is so useless, EH is only stopping MM attacks. What are your thoughts on the decaying of the DD-reducing effect to activate after the minion has been hit with a DD instead of decaying from the first round. It would make the EH a bit more viable and compete with the TSA. Since it is a chest piece, it wouldn't be too overpowered. Reactions?

In conjunction with the mage shield i think it would be too powerful. However i am bias because i use MM :)

BestNUB April 18 2012 5:37 PM EDT

I just thought about this a bit more and this suggestions seems a bit useless. The opponent can just train a small FB on any minion and we're back to where we are now :S

However, the point of the post still stands: EH somehow needs a slight boost since right now the only purpose of one is to stop MM.

"opponent can just train a small FB"

Not true if you are running AMF.

BestNUB April 18 2012 5:48 PM EDT

so the plot thickens!

Fishead April 18 2012 6:59 PM EDT

YES! YES! Beef up the EH.

Sickone April 18 2012 7:59 PM EDT

How about losing the "decaying" part of the whole deal instead ?

BestNUB April 18 2012 8:31 PM EDT

It seems overpowered without the decay part since MgS has the drawback of the wearer not being able to cast spells so not all minions can use it.

Eliteofdelete [Battle Royale] April 18 2012 11:21 PM EDT

How is it overpowered without the decay part? You are giving up the most important spot of armor to have only a little magic resistance.

BestNUB April 19 2012 12:02 AM EDT

The piece of armor gives 1% per + as opposed to 0.75% per + for the shield. In addition, the upgrade curve is better than the shield so for 122m NW, you can get 75% DD resistance. Adding a Mgs on top of that would pretty much stop DDs altogether.

Fishead April 19 2012 12:09 AM EDT

Maybe getingt rid of the decaying resistance is a bit much (though I would not complain), but maybe reduce the amount.

Josh [Cult of the Valaraukar] April 19 2012 1:41 AM EDT

You can't remove the decay. It wouldn't be that difficult to get 100% reduction. Only $55mil. Then go Exbow and not even wear any other armor except for bonuses and take virtually no damage except against RoBF teams and from GA/AMF.

I like the idea of making it from first hit though.

But yes, you can still get around it with a small fireball, you just need to wear some NSCs. A lot of teams have a minion that could do this without giving up much.

Josh [Cult of the Valaraukar] April 19 2012 1:44 AM EDT

I forgot the reduction doesn't stack like that so ignore my part about $55mil, but you can still get ridiculous reduction for not too much money considering the benefit.

BestNUB April 19 2012 2:00 AM EDT

yes, the fireball trick is a real complication to the whole matter. I had not considered NSCs.

It just seems awful that the piece of armor works at 32.77% effectiveness when melee combat starts for CoC and SG as opposed to 100% at the start of ranged for MM.

Some sort of normalization factor to the effectiveness of DD resistance would be ideal. Reducing the decay percentage might work but the exact percentage would have to be selected carefully.

I also wondered why this piece of armor was the only elven armor without the DEX bonus.

Anything to boost the viability of this armor is appreciated at this point :)

Eliteofdelete [Battle Royale] April 19 2012 10:29 AM EDT

NSC would be expensive to just make the EH start decaying, and it would have to be at a level that would overcome the base DD reduction.
So one would probably need 20-50k FB levels and a few mill in an NSC.

Also, you could lower the % to .6 or .75 per point and remove the decay.
