So, I work with the public. One of the happy consequences of this is that I get to handle all manner of delightfully odd questions & requests which almost never fail to instill upon me a certain level of bemused mirth.
Today's question:
"Is there an A&W near here?"
Why, you might ask, is this the best question?
Simple. The explanation that accompanied it.
"My son has allergies and can only eat at A&W."
What's the kid allergic to, nutrition? Vitamins? Green Vegetables? I honestly cannot fathom what food allergies would render A&W the safe choice. Are their 'peanut free' burgers that revolutionary?
Meh, maybe it is just me, eh?
A&W is a root beer brand that has a few fast food chains.
And that is pretty sad, sounds like the parent is delusional.

Fast food place GL... kind of a root-beer-centric McDonalds, but with a different-ish menu.

Maybe now that Americans have to have health insurance the mom might actually visit a real doctor and find out how nutty this really is.
(too soon for an Obama/Romney Care joke?)
A&W has a delicious cream soda.
By "allergies" she means, "I need to feed him deep-fried foods in a cheap chain restaurant that I am certain does not use peanut oil."
