buy my stuff or I quit (in General)

Tabaldak July 10 2012 12:19 AM EDT

Since about February for every auction I've seen I've checked past auctions and then bid on the item whatever the third lowest winning bid was for the past six months. I then resold the stuff at a higher but quite reasonable Buy Now Price in the auctions. This not only made me some extra money once in a while but also helped keep the value of rares high when there seems to be so many that its decreasing the value of rares. If my stuff in auctions right now doesn't sell at the buy now price I'm going to quit bidding on stuff in auction and you all may then see value of rares go back down.

Shouldn't this be in FS/WTB?

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] July 10 2012 12:41 AM EDT

You don't have anything in auctions. Unless you're a multi of Painted Death.

SuiteStuff [C and S Forgery Lmtd.] July 10 2012 1:26 AM EDT

are you talking about the auctions I currently have bid ons? You bringing attn to it, I was hoping to get em for a steal =P

Tabaldak July 10 2012 1:31 AM EDT

Yeah Red, I am talking about them, dunno where ResistanZ is going or what he's looking at

Tabaldak July 10 2012 3:19 AM EDT

Gloves of Mercy have sold at the buy now price

But I'm serious, if the Chakram which is also at quite a reasonable buy now price doesn't sell at the buy now price then I'm done making bids to keep rares more valuable

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] July 10 2012 3:19 AM EDT

Uh, is there a bug in auctions then? The literally only thing in auctions from you is a chakram.

SuiteStuff [C and S Forgery Lmtd.] July 10 2012 3:31 AM EDT

Resistanz the gloves he had sold already....someone bought it at the buy it now price...so only thing left is Chakram.

Manipulating the market to keep prices high to make more money.

Ah, capitalism at its best.

Personally, I feel that items in the normal game should refelct tournaments, and all (bar specials) should be purchasable from the store.

But that's just me I fear.

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] July 10 2012 5:13 AM EDT

The title of this thread is quite misleading as well. ;)

TH3 C0113CT0R July 10 2012 6:24 AM EDT

personally I think you should quit. boo hoo your not making any money 'scamming' people... you buy stuff low and try to sell it high.. if nobody bites get over it! crying over a pair of crap! gloves of mercy? really? chakram, meh...

I hate people like you. buy crap in auction that someone else NEEDS, and relist it for more... don't get me wrong your trying to make an extra buck.. but to cry about it and threaten to quit? good ridden's...

You have no idea how many times I've really needed an item out of auction, then some jerk off that has 5 sitting in his inventory out bids me just so he can relist the item to make extra money... stop crying and play the game or quit I don't care..

TH3 C0113CT0R July 10 2012 6:28 AM EDT

and on top of that, I usually bid market value of past auctions too, and usually add a bit just to secure the win, and yet someone will still out bit me over market value just so they can win it and relist it for more cash...

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] July 10 2012 9:14 AM EDT

I kinda agree with Collector. I like you as a person Tab, but this does seem to be chiefly motivated by greed. You act like somehow profiting from items you buy cheap and sell at a higher price is somehow benefiting the game.

But in fact it only benefits people who make a profit by buying low and selling higher; namely, people like you.

Most people in the real world wouldn't complain about the goods they need not costing enough, right?

TH3 C0113CT0R July 10 2012 9:51 AM EDT

Just wanted to clarify, I don't hate you as a person either, just the grouping of people that manipulate the auction house for there own needs.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 10 2012 1:38 PM EDT

AH manipulation is frowned upon.

Once upon a time, I (with assistance! :P) tried to game the AH. Up the price the AH thought Katana's were worth, so I could sell a boat load of them to Central Bank (as no one in their right mind would bid on the auction) for an inflated price.

Jon politely asked me to stop.

I did.

Go ahead and quit then! ;)

Unappreciated Misnomer July 10 2012 5:13 PM EDT

then why didnt you make the minimum bid the buy now? you brought it on yourself. look at my auctions, sure i do the same thing, buy low adn sell high, they dont always sell. by the time they do I dont get rich because of the number of AH fees
