Whats wrong with my build? (in General)

Achertontus [Sneezels] December 23 2012 5:02 AM EST

So I decided to start all over since I want a 4-minion team instead of a 2-minion team and the cost is way too high for hiring new minions.
I carefully planned this team and gave it a lot of thought.
Now reaching 40k I barely win fights, so I'm asking for some advice/help/ideas.
Am I doing anything wrong?
What could/should be changed/improved?

Thanks for reading!

You're using both PL and GA.

Your RoS isn't on your AS minion.

What you should probably do is make one minion a pure AS minion, with the RoS and drop PL to get most out of GA.

Im using the RoS until I can get my hands on a balrog flame.
The reason why the RoS is not on my AS minion is because else I dont have any use for my BoE.
I kind of knew PL and GA on the same minion wasnt a good choice hehe.
Thanks for the advice!
Still hoping for more to provide some thoughts about my build.

Also, when I equip my BoE and AG's on my decay minion it becomes 0.
And I don't quite understand why it nullifies my decay while it should amplify the DD/ED/EO.

I would have suggested you check the encumberance of your minions, since you started a new character. If you used stuff you had it is most likely +'s up a bit. I not sure but it seems like if the mage in the back is your damage dealer I would move him to the middle to avoid mm. Hey Good Luck

I see a few things.

Your using a ELB on a minion that does not train archery. If you really want to keep BL I would switch to a A/E Xbow. No archery needed for those and they can be quite effective even if they do a bit less damage. Or keep the ELB and replace BL with archery. ELB+archery can do quite impressive damage. Prob more than the BL but you loose the big HP gain from VA+BL. If you follow my recommendation below you wont need the HP gain so much.

You have a minion only training GA/HP. GA caps at 60% of damage. I would assume that used to be your PL minion. Without PL thats a meatshield with low armor. I have a 4 min team with GA and only spend 1/10 of the minion on it. You could change it to DM which does not cap out. You would need to keep the RoS for that but I recommend doing that anyway. All your HP are from AS except him and anyone using DM (quite common) will reduce your HP to nothing. AS+RoS is quite effective. Adding RoBF to that strat would be worse than RoS. RoBF is really good but you need the right strat to support it.

Your training AMF and AS on the same minion. If your keep RoS you want to be mainly training AS on the minion wearing it. AMF is important too so you end up with two spells you want really high on the same minion. You should be able to avoid that on a 4 minion team.

What I would do...
I would untrain HP/GA off Grunt and replace it with RoS/AS. You would want to get a corn and spell boosters for him when you can. You will end up with a huge AS protected from DM by the RoS. MY main uses that strat with 20 HP per minion base and I can guarantee it works. On Liara I would untrain the AS and put the GA there at 1/10 to 1/4 of its total xp and the rest into AMF.

You want to rearrange your minions so that the damage dealers are in the middle. You have one of your damage dealers in the back where MM hits first. The one with high dex should go before the mage since he can dodge some. I would make it look like ETME. That gives you a buffer at both ends where most damage comes from and a high dex minion with regen in front of the mage.

After talking with psycho and reading all this I realize that for the build I want to use I need a lot of money. Im using the ELB because i cant afford an ax/exbow. Same for the tank and mage gear.
I will just simplify this build to make money, and then use the next NCB to make the better build. I thought I knew quite enough about tactics to make this build viable, but now I know I still have a lot to learn.

Thanks to everybody for trying to help me out!!

Sent you a near base AXBow.

I hope it helps!

If you want to farm money for a tank/fighter type build then you should run either a mage NCB or a 4 minion AS/GA team.

Those require little NW to do well.

Hivemind [The Hive] December 23 2012 9:07 PM EST

You already have a viable farm team there. Few tweaks and it will work just fine. You could go overboard with gear and it would be a bit better but the upgrade cost would go through the roof. I run a similar setup but with a lot more skills. Having a lot of high end gear helps make up for the xp dilution but it costs a fortune to keep it upgraded. In your case you dont have nearly as much xp dilution so you do not need a full set of high end gear.

The only things that I would add a lot to the changes I sugguested would be the spellboosters (not too expensive) for a small boost and a Corn (very expensive) for a large boost. Both of those items are good in most strats so its not a bad idea to grab them just to have them.
