Although I remember asking this before I cant actually find any thread with this question:
Does the AoL/BoF work only if the minion is in the first slot, or does it work on anything behind it, even if the minion wearing AoL/BoF is in the second slot (so Third and Fourth minion would get bonus but not First)? This would essentially let me have a PL wall wear an AoI in my first minion slot while still letting my damage dealers get the AoL/BoF bonus.

According to the wiki AoL/BoF only takes effect when the minion wearing the item is in the first slot and alive. Putting it on the second minion will give no effect.
Ah yea the wiki seems to be pretty clear about this. Sometimes they're wrong though :P.
Though you can wear one on the second minion in case the first one dies. Though that seldom helps.
