Need some pointers for a heavy tank set up (in General)

I'm trying to get a heavy tank build set up. I'm wanting to try a single minion build, but I'm partially certain that might not work out so well. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Single minion heavy tank will not work. Single minions need their armor, or a tattoo, to boost their stats, else they will always have major vulnerabilities. The NW factors will also prevent a single minion to fully benefit from the heavy armor until very very late. Anything under 200 AC on a single minion heavy tank would simply not hold up against most enchantments and spells.

Any strategies which I might for use said build to make it work? With the inclusion of more minions, that is.

As edyit wrote, the best thing to do is to check out the top scores in the Character Standings and inspect the top scores. Some of them surely use heavy tanks. If a multi-minion character manages to have a top 50 score and keep it, it means the strategy is pretty effective.

Most effective non-mage single minion strats are the RoBF wall or ToA archer; a melee weapon based single minion probably has too many weaknesses to be effective later on

I had an awesome melee weapon build at one point and the Jonathan nerfed them all into oblivion, set up that noxious encumbrance bane, and then quit. You are not going to be able to make a good melee weapon based team. An archer would work as mentioned.

Also, as mentioned, equipping a decent weapon is dang expensive. This makes single minion fighters and teams of fighters impractical unless you want to buy CBD with USD. The whole GS, Haste, and AS thing is very enticing until you realize that equipping 4 fighters decently is impossible.

Well, miteke, I am realizing you are 100% correct.

I am running a single minion NCB. If I equip my $18M NW BoTH on the minion and hitting targets with less than 100 AC:

(1) With my ST around 600K, tight roping with my encumbrance, I deal no more than 85K per hit.
(2) Boosting my ST around 1.1M with a huge ToA, my largest blow just increases to around 95K damage. Just 10K more damage for 500K extra ST!!!!

To constantly deal blows over 100K with an $18M NW BoTH, I am estimating my ST will have to be over 1.5M. By then, I will have to add an extra $10M CBD into my BoTH if I want it to follow pace with my minion.

I am certain that a 1.5M CoC deals a lot more damage than that? Maybe I should just retrain ST into CoC and drop the BoTH?
