Does VA stack with items like MH? (in General)

I'm finding the higher mpr I get the more I depend on the damage from ranged combat than melee. I simply dont always have the survivability to last until melee. I've been investing in my elb more than BoTH because of this. It is a good idea on paper but it is not working out as well as I thought it would.

I also tried a BoTH strategy before and it simply does not deal enough damage to be viable. You are better off with an ELS, a MoD, a VB, or even an Elven Stiletto.

The BoTH used to be good until they nerfed melee damage. Then it became almost useless.
