A couple new player questions for all you Vets (in New players)

SalsaOld February 8 2018 12:05 AM EST

Been spending some time reading through the various Help topics and sections and there are a couple questions I hope all you Vets can help me with or point me in the right direction.

1. Weird Score to PR ratio: I often run into characters that have a 8m+ score but very low MR/ PR. Although its nice to fight them, It inflates my score which then seems to make me vulnerable to getting farmed myself by much higher level PR characters. Seems like there would be more of a correlation between PR and Score and something is inflating scores for lower PR characters artificially. What am I missing?

2. Drops? : Looking through the general discussions I see that there is a chance for random gear drops when fighting? Anyone have info on the frequency or the prerequisites of this occurring?

Carnage Blunder 2 February 8 2018 1:24 AM EST

1. the inflation you see is done on purpose by some kind players and as far as i know there is no real downside to it, so utilize that challenge bonus as much as you can by fighting those with scores higher than yours! every little bit helps. 2. drops are random as far as I know and you can get basically any rare item except supporter items.

hope this helps!

random drops are no longer happening. that was a transition from the rares in the stores to putting them directly into auctions. Rares used to drop in the stores and we had campers who sat and got all the good stuff. They wanted to stop that and they did.

Needed the scoring for the NUBS to reach the max pr in the game to get to the top. The game had become 2 or 3 people at the top who couldnt be touched and never slept. Now we are all touched.. Im gonna cry :*(. so thats why you see a lot of static characters pumped up so they can be useful to the game. Dont just sit there take this BAMMM. They dont fight back either.

PLUS you a Superhero. If you had zero score you would still get beat...look at all that bonus, got to pay for it somehow ya know :)

ok well you not A Superhero. it still apllies :)

Random drops do still happen, as Carnage Blunder said there is a chance that you can receive any rare item that is not a supporter item just from fighting battles, you will see a message at the top of your screen saying, for example "Varda is pleased with your victory and grants you A Katana [74x9] (+2). Use it well!". We used to keep a running log of what dropped back in the day but with so few players it's kind of gone by the wayside.

A more in-depth view into the score to PR ratio is this, you get a challenge bonus based on your PR compared to your opponents score, maxing out at 100% for attacking someone who has 2x your PR in score. i.e. you have 500k PR and beat an opponent with 1m score = 100% bonus. There is also an underlying factor of MPR:MPR ratio. If you fight someone with a significantly lower MPR than you, the base reward will be far less. So there is a balance you want to keep with MPR of your opponent and Score of your opponent.

Those were easy think of harder questions!

Ok how about this, what is more viable late game?

1. SFBM running a fire/steel familiar , Ammy of Junction, large DB's, training 1/3 each (HP/FB/DM)

2. SFBM running a Tattoo of Endurance, Ammy of AC?, Large DB's also training 1/3 each (HP/FB/DM)

Add NSC's to your first suggestion and it's the best of the two. A ToE just isn't worthwhile anymore, at least in my opinion. At the high end, familiars do so much damage that a ToE just isn't on par.

The old one February 10 2018 10:10 PM EST

Since they changed the ToE ways back to only reduce physical damage it really became useless to a lot of strats. It's pretty easy to get around 50% reduction from it and the biggest tattoos will only get around 60%.

If you make it to 10m mpr and do 1/3 split on exp you'll have around 22m levels in each, 11m mpr will get you about 25m levels each. That will be a pretty big fireball. With a set of NSC of around +15 you probably won't have much AMF at all cast against you. Your DM that big will knock out almost all GA and AS except for the really big RoS teams.

I think your problem will be ELB teams like Law since even if you get DB's big enough to kill his +tohit he will double hit with the dex advantage and that will be around 10M damage a round. I'm not sure you can do enough damage in 3-4 rounds to get him.

I think you will be able to beat about 75% of the top ten

That's very helpful. Thank you both for the info.
