How's my strategy? (in General)

I came back after some absurd length of time (a decade or so) and discovered my character is still around. Is the strategy I was working towards any good, or should I tweak it?

The most important thing for you to know is that you are now allowed to make new NUBs... in essence create a new account and start over with all your previous gear (that you can xfer) as long as you abandon your old account. In doing so you lose access to your old account for good but you can get a lot of money and exp very fast with your new account via the New Use Bonus (NUB). As far as your current strategy goes, it looks viable as a standard four minion team. Having two DD mages will dilute your damage though, I suggest sticking to just one minion with DD. I suggest starting with a NCB or NUB to get up to speed with the really high MPR competition out there if you're willing to invest time in this game again. Good luck!

So I'd make a NUB, send my gear over, make an ablative shield/dispel magic/magic missile/guardian angel team of mages (same just without the extra magic missile) and continue with that team? Or is there a different spell setup that'd work even better? I was wondering if Fireball is better than MM for example.

And I lose all my money so I should spend it upgrading gear first, right?

You keep all your money! That's the whole charm of CB's new policy (since the game is so old). I think the team set up you have is viable as long as your magic missile isn't the only source of damage. In a four minion team a single minion with 1/4 the total exp in DD may have too low of a damage output.

i.e. use a tattoo for more damage!
