Questions and Answers:
  1. Q: Why not make a suggestions forum?

A: Because people are already liberal enough with half-baked ideas without one. Suggestions that you've actually thought through are welcome in the General forum.

  2. Q: Why not give the top economic clans a large bonus similar to the bonus standard clans get?

A: People who make this suggestion haven't thought about how easy it is to "manufacture" eclan revenue. As things stand, there is a disincentive to do this in the form of the transfer fee. If top eclans got an extra bonus, this disincentive wouldn't be enough.

Instead, eclan benefits are large across the board. (I doubt most people offering this suggestion have considered that if eclan bonuses were implemented, the base benefit level would be lowered commensurately to keep the average constant.)

  3. Q: Please add a score:power ratio stat

A: People who don't give the matter much thought might easily conclude that score:power ratio is a good measure of how effective a strategy is. However, there are several factors that skew this stat so much towards the low end that it would be entirely useless. Some of the more obvious such include high NW and decay.

  4. Q: Wouldn't it be cool if you could take items/money from a defeated opponent, or damage his armor, or something like that?

A: No, it would NOT be cool. Not even with a "really really low probablity [sic]," as one would-be game designer put it. This is completely antithetical to the main premise of CB's economy.

  5. Q: A forging skill would rock!

A: Skills are per-minion; forging is per-character. It doesn't fit, and it would be a bad idea even if it did.

  6. Q: Why not add computer-controlled opponents, or maybe a 'quest' mode?

A: Computer opponents would add zero gameplay and are fundamentally less interesting than competition with people who are (hopefully) as smart as you are.

If you think for just a few minutes about the kinds of quests traditional or massively multiplayer RPGs have, you will realize that they are either (a) ridiculously ill-suited to the CB environment, or (b) something that a CB player in quest of wealth/power/fame would be doing anyway. Or both.

  7. Q: I have a great idea for adding graphics!

A: Graphics in modern games have to be incredibly good to qualify as non-lame. The days are long gone where you could get by with a few tiles and sprites. If Carnage Blender were to add graphics, they would have to be non-lame graphics. If you think about it, lame graphics are much, much worse than no graphics at all. (If you don't think about it, go away. I'm not going to argue the point.) So why doesn't Carnage Blender add state-of-the-art really cool graphics?

  8. Q: Since we have a favorites list can we have a non-favorite list?

    A: No.

  9. Q: Mage staffs would be cool to augment magical power!

A: private explained why this is dumb with more patience than I would:

Tanks: Can become more powerful than mages, but cost lots of money to maintain. Mages: Tend to be cheaper than tanks, but also tend to be less powerful (and less able to deal with armor penalties)

I think this provides a nice balance between spending money on your chars and spending exp on them; I see no reason to change it.

  10. Q: Why not give Supporters twice as much BA, or some other really huge advantage?

A: Although CB gives Supporters a large array of perks, we have made a deliberate decision to not change the game fundamentals such that in order to be competitive, you NEED to be a Supporter. Not that features like favorites list and sort-by-PR don't help, but these are about making CB more convenient, not about changing the basic mechanics of the game.

  11. Q: You can name items, why not name spells?

A: I can't believe this RS is actually FO, but it is.

  12. Q: Why not let the tattoo artist convert lesser tattoos to normal?

A: Normal tattoos are intentionally rare. Lesser tattoos are not.

  13. Q: Why does the "Most Powerful Blow" stats not include magic "blows"?

A: This does not make sense, for several reasons.
First of all, the effect of the spell Decay mainly depends on the HP of your opponent, not on your own character.
Even when discounting Decay, DD spells are directly proportional to the level they're trained in so it would be a pretty boring stat. Just go look at whoever has the highest CoC and award him the prize. Or anyone with Decay, if you want to include that.
