Since the dawn of time, when you inspected others you could see what kinds of items they have but not the enchantment levels.

That is the way it should stay 46.2
Show me the levels too (and show them mine) 39.9
I didn't think any poll could be more boring than amulets vs shields but I was wrong 13.9

First vote?

Hah! Wonderful. I was going to pick the third choice... tough decision.

-- Dark Dreky

haha.. I was going to request this today :) :)

-- AdminNightStrike

Why not?

The way I see it, there's no harm in letting people see enchantment levels. Saves plenty of number crunching. I guess...?

-- Tyriel

Yay for freedom of information!

-- AvoidCXT

I say nay!

It needs to stay this way. Otherwise, that defeats the purpose of the "surprise element". If you knew everything about your opponent, there's really no thinking involved. Then it's really pretty much point and click.

-- AdminLamuness

Freedom

I am for freedom too, and will tell anyone my stats (usually). But I should not be compelled by the system (or anything else) to do so.

Perhaps a setting? "Reveal my info" type of thing? We would know then when someone secretive was being not so, and vice versa. Like turning off chat. *smile*

-- QBsutekh137

Anonymity!

What if you are trying to fool someone? E.G. you put a BoNE on multiple minions and it is a team where every one of them has STR....but who knows which one actually has all the X and + on it? Dum dum dum!

*sighs* Besides, that'd make the character view SOOOO ugly looking...

Personally, I'd rather not know everything about my opponent. Let's keep at least some secrecy in here, especially in Enchantment levels of skills. I might have an EC, DM, and AMF on my 3 minion team....but you don't know that I really just have a giant DM and the EC and AMF are base just to fool you!

Maybe my examples are lost on everyone, but that's just the kind of thing I'd like to keep as it is.

-- QBOddBird

Leave it please

With the current system, you can make estimates on your own on what they're swinging at you. And if you're determined enough to know, and get high enough, their item will be listed in the Item Stats. Although CB is a number crunching game, a little mystery adds a lot of fun.

-- Vaynard

No vote, but

Even if this change was put in place, there can still be some element of surprise. The only minion stats you can see are HP, STR and DEX. No Spells or skills. That can be a bit important. I often wish I could see them so that I have a rough idea of the ratio I'm looking for in my own strats.

Hi

This is your friendly neighborhood C.I.A. please adjust the camera in your computing device ,it's gotten out of focus.Just hold down the scroll lock and speak in a clear voice saying "focus please". Thank you for your help.

-- Slashundhack

Leave it the way it is.

"Even if this change was put in place, there can still be some element of surprise. The only minion stats you can see are HP, STR and DEX. No Spells or skills."

Not trying to call you out, but you do realize that this would be next, right?

-- TheHatchetman

Interesting...

More people are voting to show everything, yet the consensus amongst those posting seems to be to keep it the way it is.

I also agree that our stats should remain hidden. I'll be willing to tell my stats to anyone, I even post it in the main chat when NS asks me publicly at times. But I don't think it is a "right" to see my stats, it is more of a privilege. I think it is enough that the top people of each catagory already have their stats shown.

-- kevinLeong

hmmm ???

It says item enchantments...am i missing something? who said anything about character stats? i thought this was the ability to see the x's and +'s of ones items....... if it was for stat's i would have chosen the 3rd option...

-- [RX3]Cotillion

NAY!

i agree not to show my stats, thats one last part of the mystery to my strategy(although i have none :P)....the shroud must stay!

-- Unappreciated Misnomer

it already shows the HP STR and DX, why not the others?

-- smallpau1 - Go Blues

Might as well show the Item stats

If you've got a top ten in the category, you can see the stats anyway...

-- AdminQBGentlemanLoser

I like the current method where this one is concerned. But it wouldn't change anything to see the stats. You can see the damage anyway, and that's what counts...... ;)

-- QBJohnnywas

Determine from fighting

Why would u even try calculate before the fight on item stats you should be fighting the person and determining your strat on the fight results. it should stay the way it is you should be able to hide your misleading skills/spells

-- Juzza

The Poll isn't about Spells, Enchantments or Skills

It's about showing the plusses on equipped armour. You can get that informaiton for yourself from the Items - Overview page anyway, as long as the items are large enough to be in the top ten of their category.

For example, some of the items used by The End of Days;
TSA: +48
MH: x11,215 +180
AoF: +11
AoAC: +24
AoM: +12
Adam: +100
SC: +29
DB: +182
CML: +52
EB: +29
AG: +15
TG: +20
EG: +15
HoE: +20
HoD: +24
BoM: +30
MS: +51
ToA: Level 3,340,085

Phew! And all this is public anyway. ;) (Sorry Freed!)

-- AdminQBGentlemanLoser

someone cheated, the total % is 100.1
if you wanne know the other dudes enchant level you just pm him and ask it, i done it that way all the time so i say leave it like it is

-- Angel of Death

Cost ya?

How about a way of "payment" to see their items stats. eg. 1 BA + Cash(1.5x the inspectees MPR) Freedom isn't Free ;)
This could be very helpful for us in NP.

-- A Lesser AR of 15

Keep it as it is

If people choose to brag about their weapons and let their opponents know what they're up against then that's fine.

Otherwise they get to limit the information their opponents get, taking in more information than you're giving out is a big tactical advantage (not that I've ever bothered with it on CB, but it's worth it if you take it seriously). Taking that away for the advantage of people too lazy to do their research isn't something I'd like to see.

When I want to see an opponent's equipment stats I check their NW, the most valuable items page or even send a CM. These come up with at least fairly accurate results (NW and most valuable items involves a little guess work but CM nine times out of ten is spot on).

You've got all the details you need, AC on their inspect page, their average damage on your fight page and even a max damage on their inspect page plus a good look at their trained stats. This is all you need and then some.

-- MrC

If you already have everything you need

Why not change it? ;)

-- AdminQBGentlemanLoser

But you don't

you only have the stats of 11 of each item shown and those are the top items, why just because people can view those freely should the majority of players have to follow suit?
The top 10 make up less than 3% of the total character is the game and a pretty large number of the top rares are equipped on those characters, I'd prefer a fair amount of secrecy as to how my NW is split between my items.

-- Zoglog[T]

Not sure why...

...it doesn't just get implemented as a toggle... There are many people who ask me about my stats, even though I have some of the biggest (making them fairly obvious on the attributes page). They are asking because they want to see overall effects, item bonuses, etc. If I had the _option_ to turn on "Inspect Me!", I would. Other folks might leave it off.

With enough people having stuff turned on for inspecting, it would do away with the need for "give me numbers..." threads. Not that I have a problem with such threads, but data gathering would be easier if the curious could inspect people who had it turned on, and more curiosity means more data means more theories means the "science" of CB is advanced.

I do worry about the inspect screen being "busy", but as far as whether to have this in the game or not, just make it a toggle. I don't see what the big deal is (other than a slight programming increase to make it variable).

One more question would be whether or not inspections involving all stats would be too intensive on the server. Gathering all those item and spell attributes could be a hair more work, but then again, the items must already be gathered since named items and spell names already show.

Final idea: have it a toggle only for supporters. In other words, look at this another way: not as a revealing of information, but as a "showing off". *smile*

-- QBsutekh137

Mentors and Clanmates

A toggle I might agree with, but I'm not a big fan of it being a "showing off" feature. I'd rather it have a point. I'd like to see mentors automatically be able to see the enchantment levels as well as spell and skill stats of there mentees.

Same goes for clanmates. Clanmates have no reason to fight you and so the information becomes purely for the betterment of the character. It would make it easier for your allies to pass on advice or to take in tips on quality XP usage.
