Second!

No mentor for me, I don't think. :(

Sniffle?

Some nice editorializing on that first choice, kinda making it moot for a lot of folks (I would bet)...

I never had a mentor, but that's OK...I had the whole community in that aspect. CB was the first game with a little window at the bottom, that, once explored, had people answering questions for me. That's all I needed. Nothing to sniffle about, really.

I had a mentor but I think I talked to them once. And that was with very little game discussion. I ended up bothering Edyit and a few of the others after a month or two, of very staggard playing, and then decided I didn't like CB. Now, I'm back and wish I could help others but I only understand the basic concepts and nothing that would help with me getting to the top.

Never Had One

And I'm not sniffling about it either.

-- Lord Bob

I can't for the life of me remember...but I wouldn't haven listened anyway, I had to learn the hard way.

-- AdminQBnovice

Lumberjacks didn't have mentors, so I didn't need one, either.

CB1 didn't have a mentoring program when I started. No big deal. Even mentoring now is just to keep those RuneScape players from quitting after ten seconds of gaming without graphics. Zomg.

Don't get me wrong, I love being a mentor. Helping people understand CB is awesome- until, of course, they say things like, "Yeah, but this game doesn't have graphics so I'm out."

Helping people and having them eventually realize that CB is insanely awesome is great, though.

-- Goodfish

my mentor was my brother, till he quit and I was awesome. technically speaking I came into CB long before the mentor program

-- Blarg

i had a mentor but i cant remember if i asked questions, i think i asked 4 questions or so and rest i asked in chat

-- Angel of Death

MY MENTOR WAS AWESOME!

Technically my mentor was someone i don't quite remember; but another mentor NEGATOR provided significant assistance that got me hooked onto CB2 :)

My mentor sold out

My mentor was ilovehellokitty or whoever that sellout was.

Mikel became my unofficial mentor and was extremely helpful. yay.

Ignorance

When I started I got a CM from my mentor who I think, if memory serves, was Dark Pixie. However in my ignorance I thought the mentor system was an automated thing so I never responded. Then I just studied the forums, learning from what I read there, moving on to posting lots of questions. The people who helped most in that respect were Shade, Mr C, Almuric and Saint as far as I can remember. *edit* Ooops..almost forgot GL!!! Although he started around the same time as me, GL was posting like a demon. So much so that I thought he was a vet even then!!!

-- QBJohnnywas

I had a mentor, but after I had sent a few messages and never got any replies, I just ignored it... Did allright on my own, after all. =)

-- Aargh

Where's "My brother was my mentor" option?

My brother was really my mentor... He was the one that turned me onto the game and told me what did what. Then I surpassed him in no time and he gave up on the game!

-- DrAcO5676

Never spoke with my mentor.. joined near the start of CB2 and had no idea what was going on. Made a character on CB1 and learned the most playing on there. That and the forums helped a lot.

-- Khardin

Other

I never had one, because when i entered CB there was no mentor program.

-- Brakke Bres

Cruel reminder!

No mentor. No NUB. I've been hosed since the very beginning. *piteous weeping*

-- QBBast

My Mentor was awesome!

Seriously.

I was soo bad when I started, spent all my cash on the next wepaon to pop up in the store (for example) and didn't then have enough cash to heal my minions to fight. :( My mentor also helped ease me into the community, which was very daunting.

My mentor was invaluable to me (and I still remember who you are! :P).

Very great part of the game.

Other?

Can't remember who my mentor was because I was, and still am a rather anti social dude. I learned everything I know from extensively lurking in forums and turning chat on from time to time, leeching bits of info here and there.

While I was a mentor, even though I personaly greeted all of my mentees, only one responded, and asked many questions. That player's not around much anymore, though, I think. So, I'd say mentoring is great, but unfortunately, people seem to be startled by the program. I see it more as a way to "welcome," (retention) than a way to really teach stuff. Whatever that was about :)

;_;

thanks now you've gone an opened up an old wound.

I never had a mentor, didn't need one as I found the semantics very simple although the community as a whole gelled me into the game and allowed me to become an integral part of CB for the past 5 years :)

-- Zoglog[T]

who was my mentor?

i forgot who my mentor was but he was cool...or she...

-- RichardRahl{Kill Gun}

Slayer!!!

my mentor was awesome!

-- TheHatchetman

Who needs a mentor?

I didn't really use my mentor, but that was mainly because everyone was so helpful. When the community is this strong i suppose it only really helps those who don't use chat.

-- Ernest-Scribbler

never really "used" my mentor. he always seemed a bit unapproachable, or like he didn't have time for me. I hate admitting how much of a noob I am, anyway x_x

-- NooneKnows

I'm pretty sure I had a mentor and asked him a few questions here and there. However, it was the friend who introduced me (Gaza) that I asked most often.

I remember being a mentor once upon a time. However, the first message he sent me was something to the line of "How do I get rid of this box asking you questions?" or somesuchthing. That was pretty discouraging really. :\

-- xDanELx

I had a mentor

... and I should have talked to him ... instead I flailed around for a while before Ranger and Duke helped me with some advice.

-- Yukk

I hated my mentor...didnt respond to any of my CM's

-- cookie dough

I don't know, Jon. Did you ever mentor Grant?

-- Thraklight Resonance

My mentor was awesome

EDYIT FTW

-- ScY

Be honest, GL

"I was soo bad when I started, spent all my cash on the next wepaon to pop up in the store" -- QBGentlemanLoser

You still do that with tulwars, don't you? :P

-- Maelstrom

LoL Mael

I have a google toolbar devoted to highlighting Tulwars in the weapon store. ;)

Drudge

was mine back on cb1!! I voted he was AWESOME! =) Someone (yoyo i think) mentioned in chat yesterday that he was surprised everybody has been so helpful in this game compared to other games.
