1st vote, 2nd comment! :P

Honestly, a bunch of things. More/better prizes, some longer tournaments, lower BA caps (since I can't spend all my BA every day), possibly unlimited stockpiling of BA, more complicated (but fun, though-provoking) rules, and more that I can't think of right now.

I picked Mushu, since I have so many reasons. :P

-- Tyriel

I said lower BA caps as well

Definitely would be great, since then I can play thoughtfully instead of it being a clickbattle

-- QBOddBird

w0oT for Mushu option

Lower BA caps

-- 8DEOTWP

Good poll

I thought about it. And better/more prizes would be better. (That MgS is a good start. ;) ) Longer tournaments, thats for sure. And just more spice to it. That would help for sure. :)

-- 48xVanished48

lower cap

makes it easier for those of us who don't get up every 5 hours. *cough* you, perhaps? *cough*

-- Phoenix

Not first!

we'll have some lower BA cap tournaments coming up then, and I'll see if I can throw in some Mushu.

-- Admin{CB1}Slayer333

Honestly, I'm usually just too lazy to start a character. I might try to play some of those Mushu-flavoured tourneys though :)

-- SundariZelia

Since the same three people win every tourney, does it really matter?

-- FailBoat[SG]

If enough people play tournaments I have no problem putting restrictions on how many times you can win in a row :)

-- Admin{CB1}Slayer333

SilvaGaidin

If it wasn't just 3 people playing every tournament, chances are there those same 3 people wouldn't be winning every tournament...

-- QBOddBird

shorter tourneys

-- Bolfen

I too say Mushu!

I have to say nothing wrong with the same people winning if they are among those playing the most. So, by trying to get more people playing (this poll) maybe that could change. I think a "number of tourney's won" limit would be great IF a lot of people are at least trying. I have yet to be among that number but that could change. As of yet one of the biggest reasons I don't enter em is cause I use all my time trying to better my main character. Thank you for your attention.

-- j'bob

and again...

This may get blasted but its just a thought ... how bout the addition of xp prizes to your main character (or whatever non tourney character you want) won through the tourneys?

-- j'bob

I'd like to see something like set rewards for a set achievement along with the top prizes. Also a reward for the top person to be able to transfer their items off the tourney character. I guess just something different is what I'm really saying. It seems as though if you played a few and kept a record of your opponents and your skill levels, you could "easily" maximize your challenge bonus. I can't say I know since I don't play them, but that would be the first thing I would do.

-- Khardin

Transfer of Rewards/Prizes!!

I hate to bring up the old days like some boring old codger drooling in his rocking chair on the porch, but...

in CB1 I played tourneys a lot because it gave me the chance to make some quick cash to fund my main char. While it's fun to run a tourney char here, you might get more people involving themselves if they can transfer from the char.

Make it a 1 way transfer at the end so that non winners can at least feel like they're taking something from the tourney as well.

-- QBJohnnywas

YES ^ ^ ^

PRAS THE WORD JOHNNY just let us transfer the stuff from our torney chars too our main wons when the torneys done...simple if you guys did that i know i would be in every torney comepeteing because i know at the end if i lose it wasent a waste of my life in the end.

-- TinTizzy

Johnnywas' idea.

Why dont we get the option to do that? Would it be bad for the economy or something?

-- 48xVanished48

ya

i have no idea why i really dont see it doing anything but good with the game.

-- TinTizzy

More time!

I voted the Mushu-option, because the only thing that would get me in tourneys is more time in my own life. I love tourneys the way they are!

-- IndependenZ

Lower starting BA

What turns me off is the high starting BA pool. I'd like it to be more often at 160, so that I can burn a little of it without having the rush to get all BA burned super fast so I can begin having it regenerate again. I speak only for myself here, but when at school, being able to burn 30 ba then come back later is a very nice thing :)

-- Eurynome Bartleby

JW stole my thought

I don't have the skill/time to honestly expect to win a tournament. So, since I'm out of the running for prizes the only reason I participated in CB1 was because my time was rewarded with a little boost of cash or items.

-- phrog

Transfer out of items/ cash

Here. here.

-- Gigan

I tried playing the tourney once but the BA cap was too high and eventually lost out due to lack of time.

-- Kong Ming

Less frequent is good

I feel that tourney being too frequent isn't fun, people who played for a few weeks will eventually get bored because they do the same routine over and over, and really it's disheartening to start from 20 MPR :P

I suggest to change tourney to once a month, while organizer can take 1 whole month to "gather" enough interesting prizes to draw in critical mass.

Also if tourney engine can be updated to be able to let participants start with pre-allocated xp so that they can start tourney at 100k MPR or 200k MPR , would be quite interesting too :P

-- Lumpy Koala

a race to 1 mil mpr?

:)

-- Bull3t F4c3

I've never played a tournament (even on CB1), and I don't start planning on it anytime soon.

-- SNK3R

I would play more tournaments if I could transfer things from my tourney character to my real character. Since I can't do that, I'm much less interested in the tourney as I don't have enough time to play them as the other guy. But I would at least TRY to win. This is the one difference between old tournaments and new tournaments that I do not like.

-- AdminQBVerifex

Now I remember why I don't play tourneys anymore... its because with me having a 6/20 refresh char... I always get weird refresh on my tourney char... which leads to me losing my mpr lead/challenged lead and in the end just screws me over when the whole tourney is based on mpr or challenged battles.

Fix this little bug and I will be more inclined to join tourneys, that and maybe make it a little more profitable to play in tourneys... transfers off would be nice... as would longer tourneys with more time in between them.

-- DrAcO5676

Transferring things from tournament characters onto main characters would open wide the door for bringing substantially more cash into the game where already it's overflowing.

I have never played a tournament, simply because I can't make a tournament character. Why the tournament character has to take up a normal character slot is beyond me.

-- AdminNightStrike

well...

i mean if you earn the money dont you think you should have it like i dont think this cash over flow will really ever stop so we might as well live with and let us trasfer items off

-- TinTizzy

What Johnny said!!!

Even the "trying something new" novelty wore off for me after about 12 or 13 tourneys (without a finish higher than 3rd) - let us keep the character's leftover loot when we're done! :)

-- QBBarzooMonkey

Unfortunately, I doubt that transfers off tournament characters will happen.

However - I believe someone had suggested less frequent tournaments. If instead of weekly tournaments there were monthly tournaments, I believe I would have enough spare cash to have "threshold" rewards, where everyone who passes a certain MPR, Score, or something, gets a congratulatory prize.

I happen to like that idea - would that be a nice balance between being able to transfer items, and having no return for your invested time if you don't place in the top 3?

-- Admin{CB1}Slayer333

Yeah!

Great idea!

-- QBOddBird

Different kinds of tourneys

There are plenty of interesting ways to make a tournament. No XP gain (start at xxx thousand MPR, whoever can get the highest score, no fighting other tourney characters, perhaps?), no cash gain, actual tournament tournaments featuring 'hidden' characters where you have to win your way through quarter-finals, semi-finals, etc. If Jon or somebody else could facilitate these kinds of things, I think lots more people would be interested.

And prizes for everybody. Because I said so. :P

-- Tyriel

Threshold rewards; nice idea.

That would be good; a tourney's a lot of investment of time, especially if you're running a main char as well. Some kind of prize, however small it was, would make it feel like that investment was worth it.

;)

-- QBJohnnywas

hahaha, mushu flavored. everyone is a goofball here

-- drudge

Mushu-Flavored?

Don't know what that is, but you'd really, really have to prod me to get me into any of these new-fangled competitive thingy-ma-bobbers.

-- th00p

Exactly, can't stand Tournaments.

-- Marlfox

Give tourney a chance!

I think tourney has a bad rep. It is known as this drawn out affair with low to no chance of pay out. It is kinda associated with the grind of not missing a single ba and couple that with your regular ncb, tourney becomes a chore.

The current tourney is the first one I've ever played. I have to say I'm enjoy myself tremendously. The ability to spend recklessly, the need to make best use of low level items and the need to constantly adapt your strategy is infinitely more rewarding than grinding my robf can of snore all day long (nerf robf plz so I can be foced into something more interest).

I say we should have a play by play for tourneys!! Like commentators that summarizes the twist and turns and the climax of the race to the top. I think slayer has some great ideas going and tourney just needs some packaging. it needs to be marketed better.

-- Ulord[NK]

Haven't read much..

but I would play tourneys. I just find time escapes me. Besides it's carefully burning BA which takes hours.

-- Flamey

Why transfer when you get a prize...

It doesn't make sense to give everyone a prize by letting them transfer the 1-2million$$ you make in a full tourney. If you are not willing to put up good competition with others you do not deserve any bonuses to any of your characters. If you participate more the prizes may become better and the prior winners of tourney's would be restricted until such time as Slayer sees fit for them to return. I hope that the transfer idea was just a ridiculous proposal and that I am flaming a sarcastic idea.
