XsniperX has made 12 accounts so far, and he keeps creating a new account shortly after the previous one is banned. As he's using AOL, simply banning his IP won't work.
After how many more accounts do we come to the conclusion that his provider needs to be banned?

no i use AOL
Yeah, I'm still okay with that. :P
I use aol to it would be retarded to ban all aol accounts just because of one. [Edited by Shade - fined $25k].. he does not even play the game. He just makes lots of accounts to piss people off.

I've always wondered why people actually use AOL - is it significantly cheaper than real Internet services, or what?

Not anymore it's not.

Used to be you could wheedle many months of free service from AOL(way back in the dial up days). You just complain about crappy service and threaten to switch to some other provider and they would offer you 90 days free of charge if you would stay. They won't do that anymore, though. :P

February 26 2006 3:01 PM EST
*grins* nope, you can still do that, PK. Just use Wal-Mart Connect instead of AOL, they'll still do it.

I got three months free when I signed up for my high speed service last year.

I use AOL at home, still on dial up. At first because my old deceased computer wouldn't run the software from other providers, but now mainly because our local broadband provider (and most of the existing UK dialup providers that are worth looking at )doesn't cater for Mac users....
Ban AOL and that would cut my CB time down by more than half. My wife would be happier! ;)
I always considered a /ban *!*@*aol.com more than sensible. Sadly even after this a determined multi could use a proxy (thus forcing a ban on the proxy). If you play the game Via AOL, find a proxy server, or get a real provider.
aww Johnny you too? Well I feel bad, but what do you want? It's like riding a moped to a drive in man...

good idea, novice. This one doesn't strike me as smart enough to even look up the word "proxy". ^_^

February 26 2006 3:12 PM EST
novice: this multi's problem is a lack of a brain. So I'm not afraid of him using a proxy ;)
Maelstrom
February 26 2006 3:12 PM EST
Doesn't CB already block known proxy servers?
what do you have to worry about, if he makes 100 accounts in 20 days they will all be deleted by the system right?so longs as they are inactive
bartjan
February 26 2006 3:16 PM EST
"by the system" actually is "by the admins". We have to kill him each time from chat (he's annoying at least, but also knows we don't like non-PG) and ban his account.
I personally no this guy he is only doing it to piss everyone off.

You know him? Why don't you tell him to smarten up?
hes in high school what do you expect.

a little intelligence, but I guess those expectations *are* a bit high nowadays.

I don't know about you, but I would certainly expect someone to smarten up while in high school. That is the whole purpose to school, you realize...
I almost did not have the cash to pay for that one. Lol

So i should fine you some more so you stop finding it funny? can be arranged within a minute.
No thats alright I just thought it was funny cause I am so poor.
Mega: think of it this way, if 90% of the people entering your house via a particular door were drooling idiots wouldn't you start locking that door?

Not that this has anything to do with that analogy, but...not if the other 10% were female supermodels.

February 26 2006 9:40 PM EST
[OB]1, that has everything to do with the analogy: you're saying MegamanV, kefeck, and Johnnywas are supermodels! ;)

Hi MegamanV, kefeck, and Johnnywas! How you doin....
Heh. And I thought I was the only AOL user left in the building.

Nothing good comes from AOL, but banning the entire network would be in bad form.
I, however, have banned AOL email sign ups on two of my sites and the AOL network on all three. (one came before the other, never changed the email ban..lazy).
Just like I ban Thailand and china from using my ecommerce site, that is where most credit card fraud originates from, so they are all borked when it comes to playing with my money.
IF his friend would be kind enough to supply Bart or Jon with the contact information for this highschooler's house, they could call his mother and get him grounded ;)
That sounds a lot more fun than anything else.

How about a temp ban for say 4 days of the IP since he takes that long to process a thought anyways and kef seriously dude talk to him and stop letting you both embarrass yourselves.
giving out an underaged persons information online may in fact be illegal...just a thought.

February 27 2006 12:27 PM EST
In fact you are not giving out the Minor's information, but the adult's information.
The minor lives at home and technically doesn't have contact information to be given away.
If this is a concern then bart or Jon can contact the person who has the information by phone and then it is not given out online.
nice idea special j I could do that to I no his phone number.
